I met five families this fall for their mini sessions at Bear Creek Regional Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I loved that one family was one of my past couples who married back in 2014 (hey, Justin and Lauren!!!)! They just moved to Colorado Springs this year, and I loved reconnecting with them, along with their newest addition. 🙂 Otherwise, I had the best time catching up with everyone since I knew every family. We got SO lucky because a big snowstorm surprised everyone the following weekend and took out all of the fall leaves for the season! Whew. I’m so glad we have these fall colors documented — It turned out beautiful!!! I enjoyed playing games with the kids and chasing them around for organic photos along with the quick family posed + interactive photos. It’s always a great, fun time!! Check it out below!

How a Mini Session Works

After booking a record 20 mini-sessions in one day back in the spring, I decided to keep it to just 5 mini-sessions this fall. I enjoyed it way more limiting the number of minis, so don’t be surprised to see this moving forward. 🙂 We met one evening at their contracted time to photograph their sweet moments together for 15 minutes. I scope out a location beforehand and tell each family where to meet and what to wear so they prepare before the event. Whether or not they choose to follow my style guide, I try to help as much as I can and check in before the contracted date. And while I typically deliver 20+ photos, I narrowed down this blog post to some of my favorites! 🙂 Check out some of my favorites below!!
