I can’t think of a more magical way to celebrate the last days of summer than with Zach and Maddi’s Airlie, Warrenton Virginia wedding. From the start, their wedding was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and so much love. Their engagement session at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens carried that same natural, garden-inspired theme, so it felt only fitting that their wedding carried it through.
Zach & Maddi’s Wedding Day
The morning began with Maddi and her bridesmaids getting ready, filling the room with laughter and excitement, while the guys were just around the corner enjoying foosball and hanging out. The energy of the day was lighthearted and full of anticipation. It was a warm mid-September afternoon (the kind where I sweat it out behind the scenes—haha!), but looking through their photos, you’d never know. All you see is joy! 🙂
Maddi and Zach shared a private first look in the butterfly gardens, where they exchanged their personal vows. It was such a tender and sweet moment, just the two letting go of any anxiety before the ceremony. From there, Maddi had her “Cinderella moment”—walking down the Spanish staircase hand-in-hand with her prince charming. Her sister’s reaction summed it up perfectly: “Omgosh, this is exactly what you’ve dreamt of!”
The Ceremony & Party
The ceremony took place tucked away in the garden, with their closest family and friends gathered around. Maddi’s aunt officiated, which made the service all the more meaningful and personal. And after the ceremony, guests were led to another garden for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while the sun sank behind the trees. Zach and Maddi were able to join in and enjoy time with their guests—something I know they cherished.
The reception that followed was both sweet and lively. From their playful first dance filled with laughter and smiles, to emotional toasts and parent dances, it was clear just how deeply loved these two are. Once the dance floor opened, it stayed crowded all night. Zach’s West Virginia University crew made sure of that with a spirited singalong to “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” filling the room with energy. Drinks, dancing, and nonstop laughter ended the night on the highest note possible—leaving Zach and Maddi overwhelmed with gratitude and love.
