I’m continuing this California Road Trip series with my time in San Francisco and Sonoma. If you want to check out my overall trip plans (with some advice), here that out HERE! But here are all of the blog posts to each part of the trip:
LA/Yosemite
San Francisco/Sonoma
Route 1/Carmel/Monterey
The Hearst Castle
Day 4: San Francisco
So this drive from Yosemite started the travel through the cliff sided roads. Kind of terrifying!!! Once I was passed the scary mountain drive, I knew San Francisco was upon the horizon because the entire skyline was filled with windmills! After getting settled into the hotel, I decided to walk around and see whats in the area. I walked to the Fishermans Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Fort Mason and all around the area. Finished with a yummy dinner at Palio d’Asti <- I would love to go back!!! So good!
Anddddd the scary roads we had to travel down… Lol! *IPhone Quality*
Day 5: San Francisco, Sonoma and Santa Cruz
This was by far the busiest day on the road. I got up super early to run around and see the touristy sites like the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge park and flower conservatory, and finished at the Marin Headlands! Even though I drove a scary foggy one lane climb, it was worth the drive! I would love to go back on a sunny day. 🙂 It is a beautiful overlook!!!
I was only in Somona County for 1.5 hours — So it was a quick winery visit at Sebastiani just to say “I did it!” I cannot wait to visit in the future and venture the area along with Napa Valley! After the wine tasting, I was off to Santa Cruz! By this point, the majority of my travels were spent in the dark. I would definitely suggest staying in the Sonoma/Napa Valley for an overnight trip. 🙂
Next, I will be sharing photos of Route 1! Finally, some beach shots coming soon! 🙂
