I remember Jamie, Tori and I discussing locations trying to figure out what would be the most ideal space for these two. I was at Maymont Park for Brock & Caroline’s “After Wedding Session” last month when I was scoping out locations beforehand … I knew it right then and there that I needed to suggest this place to Jamie and Tori! They specifically requested for a climbable tree. I think we definitely found it … and more than just one! I enthusiastically emailed them really excited because I KNEW this was the perfect space for these two! Not too long after, I received their enthusiastic response back saying YES! Yet again, the weather threatened our time for this engagement session but we just went for it! Fortunately, it seems like God has been answering my prayers to make these last 10 sessions work out! Haha! Not kidding … I feel like every session this spring time has been threatened by rain! But so far, everything has worked in our favors and I’m so grateful for that! These two were in high spirits as we arrived at Maymont and such a joy to photograph.

I could not help but fill up with energy around these two! Fun sense of humor and were down for ANYTHING … including climbing a tree in a dress! The session was filled with laughs, smiles and a genuine love. The best part is that they are getting married NEXT MONTH! Whew! Where has the time gone?! June is just around the corner and I’m ecstatic to be there by their side as they vow to one another at the altar.

Jamie & Tori Love Story

With both of us growing up in Culpeper and having families that were friends, Tori and I have known each other for the majority of our lives; however, our age difference of 3.5 years, slight though that may be now, kept us from running in the same circles when we were young. Despite our age difference, we ran into each other many times over the years, and I have always had a strong connection with her whenever we were together. Time passed by, with both of us living our separate lives and graduating from our respective colleges, and Tori going on to complete her masters.  We reconnected late in the summer of 2012 when I learned via Facebook correspondences with Tori that she had recently moved to Northern Virginia and also when one of my cousins informed me that Tori was single. Being the opportunist that I am, I immediately invited Tori over to a barbeque my roommates and I were hosting. I still remember the exact moment she walked through my door; despite not seeing her for years, she was the same stunning girl I had known for so long and she was also so much more.

To say the rest is history would be a vast understatement but in some sense it really is because everything that came afterwards went as smoothly and wonderful as possible. Tori and I continued to spend time together over the following weeks, meeting for happy hours, movies, and pumpkin carving before I mustered up the courage to ninja kiss her and tell her how I felt about her. By December, our relationship was going more wonderfully than I could ever imagine! On Christmas Eve I was lucky enough to experience one of the happiest moments of my life: when Tori accidentally let slip that she loved me; naturally, I returned the sentiment. Fast forward to March of 2013, following the wedding of a family member, when I ‘let slip’ that I fully intended to marry Tori one day; needless to say she was beyond pleased. Fast forward again to June when Tori and I moved in together and I got to experience the joy of waking up every morning next to the love of my life. And finally, on September 23^rd, when following a heartfelt proposal from me, Tori said the most amazing words I’ll ever hear, “Of course!”
