Well this wedding has to be one of the hottest weddings I have ever photographed! Last Saturday reached a heat index over 115 degrees! Mind you, the ceremony/reception took place outdoors. Despite the scorching temperature, AJ and Marina didn’t complain! They embraced every minute of their special day. At one point of the afternoon, I apologized to AJ for keeping him in the sunshine with a jacket on. He told me that the heat didn’t bother him at all which took me by surprise but with their positive attitude, we were able to take full advantage of the sunshine! Plus, we had some pretty incredible antique cars to play with. 🙂 Marina’s brother owns a pretty Chevy red truck while AJ’s groomsmen owns an awesome antique teal Buick. I was personally stoked to photograph these props ever since Marina posted photos on Facebook of the red truck. They used the red truck to go Christmas tree shopping and I remember commenting saying that I must photograph them with the truck! Well, they made it happen. 🙂 So worth the travel getting it to Old House Vineyards!!
AJ and Marina were engaged for exactly three years before they tied the knot. That’s a pretty long time!!! When we sat down for their final meeting, they admitted how that time flew by so fast. It does seem like the years go by faster as we age… Over the past year, we have photographed in the pretty yellow wild flowers and frolicked through the fields of Sky Meadows Park. Every time they step in front of the camera, their love shines from within. They have this fun, yet soft side to their personalities and their love is so evident when looking through their photos. I have enjoyed photographing these two over the past year and of course on their wedding day. 🙂 Old House Vineyards was the perfect backdrop for their rustic wedding. During the ceremony they locked a personalized lock on to a dock and threw the key into the lake. No doubt these two were meant for each other! After a sweet and sentimental ceremony proclaiming their love for one another to God, AJ scooped Marina into his arms and walked her down the bridge away from the guests. They are just so darling. 🙂 We were all pretty saturated from sweat by that point but that didn’t stop people from dancing on the dance floor! There might have been some disrobing involved from the men to keep cool (photos not shown for privacy factors, lol!), the day was filled with unforgettable moments to last a lifetime. 🙂
THANK YOU AJ and Marina for having me a part of your special day. It was so much fun celebrating with you all!!! CONGRATS!!! XOXO!
