This journey all started when I met Rachel at McKinsey Development years ago. She was this sweet, bubbly girl who shopped at Charming Charlie and I just knew I wanted to be friends with her! We stayed connected every time I was hired for some sort of internal job which eventually led to her contacting me when Zack proposed. I was thrilled for her and was so honored they had me in Pennsylvania to photograph their special engagement portraits last year. Funny thing is that their engagement portraits happened on the same date as their wedding day (9/17) a year ago, coincidentally! At the time, we were hoping wedding plans would align so I could photograph their big day but with their original wedding date landing on a date I was already booked later this month, we had to unfortunately close that door of opportunity. This is where things get crazy … Fast forward ten months later … Rachel emailed me out of the blue a couple of months ago telling me how she had to change her wedding date due to some things that came up. Coincidentally, her new wedding date had JUST opened up on my calendar a week prior to her contacting me! It seemed as though this was just meant to be! 🙂 🙂 🙂 The stars aligned!
Zack and Rachel’s beautiful Rustic Acres Farm venue brought me five hours away from my home town. Definitely a bit of a stretch, but goodness, it was worth the drive! Their ceremony took place in front of a huge willow with a hanging chandelier. Just wait until you see the reception space!!! This is stuff styled shoots are made out of. 😉 Their garden theme carried throughout the details from the flowers to even the table numbers (adorable).
On my way to Pennsylvania, I prayed a lot for GOOD weather. After all, they were calling for a chance of rain starting at the ceremony time. Fortunately, they had planned to do a first look so we were able to take care of their portraits beforehand, but I still wanted to see them have their magical ceremony outside under the chandelier. Well, fortunately we made it through the ceremony without rain!!! The rain did say hello when everyone was making their way to the cocktail hour so we hustled over to the altar to take care of the family formals. By the time we finished, I made my way over to the barn where we experienced some MAJOR rainfall. In fact, the rain was pouring down so hard that the barn interior walls had water gushing down like a fountain! Good thing I didn’t look at my phone during that time because my phone had an alert for a tornado warning saying to take shelter. Uhhhhh … what?! I would have freaked out if I had known at the time because I’m not sure if there was a safe place to go in the barn… Obviously, we survived and I didn’t see a tornado! 😉 I’m sure this crowd would have partied regardless!
Zack and Rachel are simply sweet together. I laugh thinking about the stories that were told at their wedding. 🙂 In fact, they were enjoying their first dance together as husband and wife when Rachel had a little slip (of course it was cute because it’s Rachel). They could not help but to laugh and share the hilarious moment with everyone. After all, it was so appropriate after Hannah (Rachel’s sister) gave her Maid of Honor speech! Love these two and I am so blessed to have met them! Zack and Rachel compliment each other so well and their love is evident in these photos. Anyways, enough of me talking … You HAVE to check out these photos from their beautiful day!!!
Thank you, Zack, Rachel, family and friends for a great time on Saturday!!! My goodness, what a beautiful day it turned out to be (when we needed it to be rain-free)! 🙂 Enjoy this preview from their special day! CONGRATS!!! XOXO!!!
CONGRATS, Zack and Rachel!!!!
