It has been a year of sharing fun DIY projects and decor ideas, and I’m continuing the series today! I have shared teasers of this room, but this is the first time I’m sharing the entire space on the blog. π It’s time to give you a tour of the guest bedroom, one of my favorite rooms of the house! It’s funny because when I first moved into my house, somehow this ended up being the first completed decorated room. Even before my own bedroom!! I was really excited to decorate this room because I really anticipated having family and friends visit. π
Creating a theme that worked for this space was easy because I decorated my previous house with beachy decor. I decided to condense the theme to just this one room as a little escape for my guests. I love the beach, but it didn’t make sense the decorate my entire house that way because I don’t even live at the beach! Haha! Hopefully, one day! So this was a great way to tie in my favorite vacation spot in my home decor, by concentrating all beach-like elements to one room. I love the results!
Last year, I shared a blog post regarding this room about how to create the canopy over the bed! It’s super easy, and I love how it tied in the vacation vision of light and relaxing. If you missed that blog post, check it out HERE! π
Treat Your Guests!
Another important thing to keep in mind is how to treat your guests! Since this space is more of a “getaway,” I want my guests to feel like they are at a hotel. I made sure to invest in a memory foam mattress (so comfy) and laid out little details that will show my guests that I care about them.
Here are some ideas you can do in your guest bedroom to make your guests feel special:
– Book (Great options: Magazines, Chip and Jo’s Magnolia Story, Bible)
– Chocolate
– Extra blankets and pillows
– Fan
– Freshly cleaned sheets/blankets
– Spray some lavender on the pillow cases
– Soft towels
– Bathrobe
– Extra hangers in the closet
– Tour guides and attraction information
– Wifi Information
– The guest bathroom should have a bunch of hotelΒ essentials: extra toothbrush, toothpaste, hair dryer, lotions, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
I hope you find this space as relaxing as I do. π Cannot wait to have more family and friends visit this year and create memories in this house!
Frame your wifi information and leave it somewhere noticeable, like on a desk!
One of my favorite books, “Lonely Planet Book of Everything!” My friend, Jessica, gifted me this book and it’s a fun book to read through! π
Love the framed calligraphy by Laura Hooper, gifted by my sweet friend, Nikki!
My mom is so thoughtful β As a house warming gift, she made a simple quilt/blanket for the guest bedroom with a seashell theme. π Perfect! Also, my friend, Kristin, gifted me this beautiful Create and Barrel candle/sea shell collection that is displayed next to the bed on the window sill. Love it!!!
Speaking of which, it’s almost BEACH TIME!!!! π
