Coffee Talk Mondays

Can you believe it’s summer?! Or I guess, basically summer? It sure feels like it with our 90-degree temps here in Florida. We feel like old farts as we try to make our plans around the hottest times of the day… Even venturing out to the beach! Gosh, I remember visiting Florida as a tourist and it wouldn’t matter if it’s 90 or 100 degrees because the beach sounded so nice! But when you live here, you plan your day to avoid the heat. šŸ˜‰ Ha! Check out how we spent our long Holiday weekend… including NO HOT WATER?! GAH!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

I hope you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend!!! I remember looking forward to this weekend as a kid because pools in Virginia opened up! It was the best time of the year. šŸ™‚ But I hope we never forget what Memorial Day weekend is really about. <3 To honor those who have served for us ā€”Ā I have a new appreciation now being a part of the Air Force community!

FISHING ADVENTURES

We met up with some friends and kicked back our feet… Well, except Alex because he was hustling around all of the catching fish! Haha! But he was like a kid on Christmas morning which was SO cute! He was SIKED when he caught two pompano fish at the same time. šŸ™‚ We got to take them home and he went to work on filleting them. Apparently, they are yummy!!! So proud of him! **Also, I really tried to catch one but hopefully better luck next time! Hahaha!

OUR SWIMMING PUP!

It was SO time for Ollie to have a bath. So we thought why not get him really dirty first and play in the water?! He loved it!!! I cannot remember the last time we took him to the dog beach park… August?! Anyways, he was a little awkward with his swimming at first, but after a while, he was running in with no fear! šŸ™‚ And we took home a squeaky clean, coconut smelling pup! **TIP: Find a park with a hose to wash your dog and pack dog shampoo, conditioner, and a towel. šŸ™‚

NO HOT WATER?!

Last Wednesday, I woke up one morning to the noise of water running throughout the house… After I stepped foot onto hot tile in the laundry room (next to the utility closet), I knew something was off. I stepped foot into a cold shower that afternoon with no hot water. Yikes!!!! Fortunately, Alex turned off the hot water and the fuse after we thought there might be a leak. But by the time Alex got home, he didn’t feel the hotness in the tile floor so we had to wait for a plumber to come out to confirm that we indeed have a leak spilling into our foundation! Ah!

The timing wasn’t so great either because nothing could be done over the long Holiday weekend. We were told that if we want to run laundry, the dishwasher, and even a cold shower, we have to still turn on the hot water which means more leaking into the slab and higher water bill… So we are doing the bare minimum to get by during this time by hand washing dishes, taking VERY cold quick showers, and hope we don’t run out of underwear before they fix the leak. Which means… potentially jackhammering into the floor of our home! Yikes!!! It’s going to be an interesting week.
