Jack’s Understated National Park Themed Nursery

Jack's Understated National Park Themed Nursery

Every once in a while, I love to share some decorating inspiration from around our home! 🙂 I’m not sure if I shared this before, but back in middle school, I was OBSESSED with TLC’s Trading Spaces. HA! Naturally, I thought I would grow up to be an interior decorator/designer. Obviously, I didn’t pursue that career route, but I LOVE doing it on the side for fun!! But when Alex and I talked about Jack’s nursery, I wasn’t sure I was going to decorate AT ALL. I mean, Jack would only use the nursery for a few months before our big move this summer. But towards the end of my pregnancy, I decided to just go for it so we don’t have to start from scratch after our move. 🙂 Go figure!! So I’m excited to share Jack’s understated National Park themed nursery with you all today!!

I say “understated” because I knew I wanted a neutral and subtle theme. And after pondering, we thought a National Park theme was fitting!! After all, we have plans for many adventures around the country with our little family. 🙂 I loved the idea of keeping any theme we chose “understated” and neutral so we could potentially reuse some of the decor (like the crib, rocking chair, etc.) for his future sister/brother. Don’t get ahead of yourself … We aren’t having another baby for a while!!! HA!

I designed this cozy room with Jack in mind. <3 We all (including Jack) love it so much, and I put in a little extra love into the design to make it special (like installing the wall trim and designing National Park prints)… But Alex likes to say that was predictable. 😉 Speaking of Alex, a big shout out for building/assembling the furniture!!! I loved seeing his enthusiasm for our sweet baby boy before even meeting him. I know Jack will grow up loving the outdoors and follow his Daddy’s footsteps. <3
