Erica & Ian are MARRIED!!! They are officially named the Dodgers. I jokingly gave Erica and Ian that nickname after their rain-free engagement session and wedding day! If you haven’t read their engagement story yet, it’s a must—so much heart and joy! Now, let’s talk about their beautiful wedding day. Despite ominous weather forecasts, we somehow dodged every storm cell. It poured on and off throughout the day, even during their church ceremony, but incredibly, we experienced sunshine exactly when we needed it—especially during golden hour portraits at the George Washington Masonic Memorial.
Ian & Erica’s Wedding Day
As I drove to the church, the rain came down steadily. We stayed optimistic, but I still scouted for backup photo locations just in case. Erica got ready indoors, a smart move considering her satin gown and wet grass aren’t exactly a dream combo. After a heavy downpour during the ceremony, the skies cleared just in time for newlywed portraits in the church courtyard. From there, they hopped aboard the cutest trolley to make their way to the George Washington Masonic Memorial for their celebration!
But let’s not skip over the ceremony—it was truly touching. Erica shared a sweet first look with her father, and you could tell how much he cherishes her. He spoke so lovingly about her, and later brought the entire room to tears during his heartfelt reception speech. Erica and Ian are clearly surrounded by love and deep family bonds.
The joy between Erica and Ian was palpable. They giggled with each other during the ceremony, and even their officiant couldn’t help but smile at them. Afterward, they greeted guests in a receiving line, where they were hilariously pranked by friends who handed them a pile of travel brochures—inside jokes that carried on throughout the day.
Once we arrived at the George Washington Masonic Memorial, the energy skyrocketed. The reception was filled with dancing, laughter, and the best kind of chaos. Their 4-H camp friends brought the fun, surprising them with a Scottish quaich cup and a handle of Jameson during dinner. One toast turned into many, and soon enough, shots were flowing across the dance floor. It was the perfect party to celebrate a couple so full of life and love.
