An Orange and Pink Fall Crosskeys Vineyards Virginia Wedding

An Orange and Pink Fall Crosskeys Vineyards Virginia Wedding

There’s something special about fall weddings in Virginia — the crisp air, the golden light, and the way the Shenandoah Mountains glow in the distance. Aiden and Meghan’s CrossKeys Vineyards Virginia Wedding captured all of that and more. These two met while attending JMU in Harrisonburg (GO DUKES!!!), so celebrating their love story just down from our Alma Mater felt like the most fitting full-circle moment.

Their story began long before college, though. They were actually Facebook friends back in middle school, even though they attended rival schools! It wasn’t until senior year of college — when fate placed their fraternity and sorority houses a few doors down — that they finally met in person. Fast forward a few years, and their relationship has only deepened through life’s adventures… including a European engagement in Amsterdam last spring!

Last fall, I photographed their engagement session on Skyline Drive with their sweet pup, Penny, and it was nothing short of magical. Meghan and Aiden honored her with the most heartfelt details: a signature drink, custom name cards, a cake topper, and even Meghan’s reception socks. My heart melted seeing how thoughtfully they carried her spirit into the day. <3

Aiden and Meghan’s Wedding Day

The day began with calm anticipation as Meghan and her bridesmaids got ready in the light-filled bridal suite. Meghan wore the cutest Lulu’s pajama set — white with bows on the sleeves (love it) — and I’m not kidding when I say I immediately wanted to buy a pair for myself! Her invitation suite was equally classy, featuring a watercolor of the Shenandoah Mountains tucked inside the envelope — a nice nod to their engagement session. Every detail tied their love story together so beautifully, right down to their matching “P” ring boxes.

When it came time for Meghan to step into her gown, jaws dropped (as well as some tears from her bridal party). Her dress was an absolute showstopper — the embroidery, the buttons running all the way down the dramatic train… every bit of it was perfection.

Their Sentimental First Look

Aiden and Meghan shared their first look on the lawn with pretty golden leaves in the backdrop, and it was such an emotional, heartfelt moment. They exchanged private vows — full of laughter, tears, and so much tenderness. I’ll never forget when Aiden gently wiped away Meghan’s tears; it was such a small gesture that said so much.

And as if the universe was cheering them on, tiny ladybugs appeared throughout their portraits, clinging to their clothes. A sign of good luck!

Their wedding party brought all the energy, too — truly the best “pump-up crew” any couple could ask for. They were fun, positive, and so kind. I even had several groomsmen come up to me during the reception to say how much fun they had taking photos… which, let’s be honest, might be one of the best compliments a photographer can receive from a group of guys!

Their Ceremony & Celebration

The ceremony overlooked the vineyard’s rolling hills and distant mountain views — the kind of scene that takes your breath away. Their officiant shared personal stories (after all, she is a freind of the family) that had everyone laughing and tearing up, and the way Aiden and Meghan looked at each other the entire time was pure adoration.

After the ceremony, we stole a few minutes during cocktail hour for sunset portraits. The light was golden, the vines were shifting from green to red, and the mountains in the distance were painted in soft blues and purples. It was one of those moments where everything aligned perfectly (a photographer’s dream) — and it felt like time stood still for them.

Then came the party! From heartfelt speeches to an absolutely packed dance floor, the reception was full of joy. One of my favorite moments was during Aiden’s father’s speech (and also what Meghan’s sister said about Aiden’s license plate before she met him—LOL!), when he mentioned how everyone he spoke to throughout the day had nothing but incredible things to say about them — both individually and together. That kind of love and respect speaks volumes about the people they are and the life they’ll continue building together. <3
