I remember meeting Eddie and Rachel and instantly falling in love with their joyful, kind spirits. Undoubtedly, these two were meant to be together forever. They have a way of making every single person in their life feel loved, especially when they celebrated their wedding day. Eddie and Rachel made sure to show appreciation to their family and friends by taking time from the busy day to thank them for their support. Just a small example of their selfless love!
When it came to planning their wedding, they wanted the main focus to be on their Christian marriage. During the ceremony, they had a beautiful communion and time to thank God for their blessings. One of my many favorite moments of the day was seeing how HAPPY they were dancing away from the ceremony after they were pronounced husband and wife!!! Adorable! Now, I am reminded of these two whenever I hear Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran or if I see a block of cheese that resembles Eddie’s surprise wedding “cheese cake”! Ha!
During our initial meeting, I knew Tara and I were going to get along. :) After all, we share the same engagement anniversary!! So fun! As we went from acquaintances to get to know each other pretty well throughout the wedding planning months, I adored Tara’s type-A style! I knew I was in good hands on her wedding day. I was right because everything was timely, and GORGEOUS. We had the most beautiful Virginia October day!
As soon as I spotted a big orange tree by the Raspberry Plain Manor house, I KNEW the first look had to happen there! After they admired one another, they couldn’t help but also admire the location for their portraits. Needless to say, they were VERY excited to see the results and even anxious. :) The best part was watching Pat and Tara watch their hard work pay off and ENJOY every minute with family and friends!! As the night came to a close, they got in the middle of the dance floor while confetti blasted in the air! What a way to cap off the wedding — BEST DAY EVER! I know how much fun THEY had, but I’m not sure they really know how much fun I also had not just as their photographer, but a friend!! I adore them so much and know that their future will be filled with love, adventure, and more beautiful moments.
Ben and Michelle know what it takes to have a strong, God-centered marriage. In fact, this celebration was a special one because they celebrated 15 years!! It was an incredible honor to not only be a part of this beautiful commemoration but document it, because Michelle was my high school photography teacher! Over the past years, we have kept in touch and become great industry friends. Michelle is so dear to my heart because she has a heart to encourage, lift, and love others; and that is a gift. They gathered their closest family and friends at their favorite place to celebrate 15 years of saying, “I choose you every day.”
Because Michelle is also a wedding photographer, she had a beautiful and personalized vision for her day. The creative vendor team put together a super romantic set up on the beach. Despite the pretty beachy details, most importantly, she wanted the full attention on her family. Because at the end of the day, they were the ones who have in return, encouraged, lifted, and loved Michelle, Ben, and Judah throughout their marriage.
John and Shannon … Talk about one GORGEOUS couple. Geez. I’ve gotten to know this couple throughout the years from their portrait sessions and, of course, their beautiful wedding day. When Shannon initially told me her vision, I couldn’t wait to step behind the camera and photograph them! They have the kindest, most gentle souls, while being so easy going! :) They were down for ANYTHING. I love enthusiastic couples who trust my vision!! But I couldn’t believe John and Shannon’s luck when I showed up to Big Spring Farm and saw the orange/yellow trees were peaking. It was pure magic when they stood in front with the sun shining through the leaves — Still some of my all-time favorite photos to this day!!
John and Shannon worked on some DIY projects (which you know I’m a fan of) like the gold animal escort cardholders! Aren’t they adorable?! Their classic-rustic vibe came together beautifully, and the party was super fun for everyone!! But for a few minutes, we managed to escape for some sunset portraits (some of my favorite pictures from a wedding day)! Can you tell how sweet this couple is in their photos — Because they are!! :)
These two are some of the sweetest people with hearts of gold! After photographing Joel and Jessica at my favorite place (Skyline Drive) for their engagement portraits, I knew I had to be friends with them because of their down to earth, outgoing, joyful vibe! But seeing them around their families on their wedding day brought the circle back around because I saw the same cheerful, loving heart from their parents. Joel and Jess made them a big part of their wedding day, and it was in those moments that showed how proud their parents were of them.
During the ceremony, Joel and Jess wanted to have a visual representation of what a Godly marriage looked like. So they included a wooden cross they tied three strands together to represent God and each other. And as soon as they were pronounced husband and wife, Joel grabbed Jessica around the waist and dipped her for a kiss! Their enthusiasm had everyone cheering loudly throughout the gardens with excitement! These two never stop loving God, each other, and everyone who surrounds them. And they are always down for a good time! Even if that means a good Backstreet Boys karaoke song during the reception by Joel and his best buds! Haha! To cap off the night, they had a campfire with s’mores to enjoy the quality time with loved ones. :)
When Tim and Morgan reached out to me regarding their engagement and wedding photography, I had no idea they would become close friends of mine! We instantly connected from the initial meeting, and since then, we have enjoyed countless wine dates, horse shows, and dinners together. Better yet, they moved into my subdivision and are neighbors of mine!! I love how my business connects me with so many wonderful friendships!!
Their wedding day was just as sweet as these two are together. I love that they have the most infectious smiles and are so personable because it shows so well in their photos!! Even with the chance of rain on their big day, they were optimistic and made the most of their time with family and friends. It ended up raining during the ceremony, but the lighting was so pretty for their portraits, and I have COUNTLESS favorites!! After many years of waiting to celebrate the occasion with loved ones, they partied the night away in a barn tucked away in the beautiful rolling hills of Hume, Virginia. Again, they weren’t spotted without smiles on their face the entire evening! It was one of the best day of their lives and I look forward to seeing many more joyful events happen in their future!!!
