Getting Settled In

I cannot believe that I have been in my new place for a month now! Time has flown by, but yet … where is the time to really get settled in?! I left for vacation two weeks ago and when I got back Sunday, I told myself “No more decorating!”. Haha! It is honestly so hard to live in a place that is not fully put together. But I need to realize the facts that when first moving into a new place, EVERYTHING cannot all be done at once … unless you happen to have a magic lamp! Fortunately, my office is slowly but surely coming together as I finally found the perfect consultation chairs! Yay! I just need to dedicate some time to finalize my organization … which is a bit scary at the moment when I have a BAZILLION other tasks on my plate. It will all come together soon. šŸ™‚

Officially … and FINALLY … Pixie has joined the new place!!!! YAY! I did not want to bring her here before leaving for vacation and so I waited until this past Tuesday night to take her from my family’s house to the new house! It has been exciting to watch her in a new space, but I am honestly concerned about her happiness. As you know, I come from a farm community and where I am now is not somewhere I can let her outside loose and expect her to be okay. The road is closer to the house and there are wild, scary animals that are near by that I did not have an issue with back at home (or at least I never hoped to see at my family’s house). So now she is an indoor kitty. Has anyone gone through a transition like this before? Taking a cat from being indoor/outdoor to strictly indoor? On Wednesday (my business office day at home), I felt like I needed to entertain her because what is she supposed to do now inside? She does not have another cat to play with and no bugs to chase and I cannot play with her 24/7 … I also want to be reassured that overtime, she won’t become depressed, overweight and try to escape the house to the outside. Lol! This probably sounds ridiculous right now! But you all have seen her grow from a 4 day young kitten to where she is now … and I just want to be sure that I am doing everything I need to do. šŸ™‚

What I did find surprising was when Kyle and I brought her inside Tuesday night, she started running around smelling EVERYTHING … and then she found my office space with a cat tree. Immediately, she climbed up and fell asleep on top of the tree for the rest of the night. šŸ™‚ Glad she knows where I’ll be spending my time! Haha! It was reassuring to know that she did not run off and hide away from the world when first bringing her over. šŸ™‚

Here is Pixie from where she was when my sister first found her to now! šŸ™‚

4 DAYS OLD

Learning how to drink milk from a bowl

Learning how to walk/run … while I caught her licking her nose. Lol!

4 WEEKS OLD

She learned that she loved watching food commercials on TV… and more importantly, on the Animal Network

She also loved her laser game on my IPad. No joke, she would wake me up in the middle of the night and pounce on my IPad until I turned on her game! Lol!

She was the most precious looking kitten!!!

LOVES being up high in her tree … which is why my cat tree in my office was a great investment for her! šŸ™‚

3 MONTHS OLD

She thought she was so sly…

7 MONTHS OLD

Oh yeah know… this is how she likes to sit in my sister’s arms. Lol!

CHRISTMAS! Haha! Poor thing…

ONE YEAR OLD

Where she is now always found … in my new office! šŸ™‚
