Tour of Virginia | The Life of a Wedding Photographer

So I sit here writing this post Thursday evening preparing for a wedding tomorrow in D.C. and looking back at this week. Where did it go?! I had allllll of these plans to cross off my list and I did not even get to touch it! To be honest, I really feel discouraged seeing my “to dos” and knowing that I did not successfully get through them. But really, I’m being way to harsh on myself. I am pulling wayyyyy more than 40 hours a week doing my job. If you want to include driving and anything involving business, this week alone I have pulled 91 hours! Yes, that is crazy… but this is what needs to happen when I work solo. I am my business. Even though most of it is perks, I have to work HARD for those perks! Especially during this crazy, busy and stressful season. November will be much more relaxing as I have a family vacation coming up at the end of the month! I want to be caught up with everything by the time I leave. šŸ™‚ Totally doable!

I look back at this week and just stunned at the workout my car got! So of course, I need a map to illustrate how much traveling was made and all of the hours spent on the road. I only now realized all of the hours spent on 81 and 95 are reasons that my weekly to do list did not complete. I need to let go! It is not possible to have the exact routine lined up perfectly from week to week. I need to accept that! This week was probably the busiest I have been probably ever! Really though, this is a blessing!

That’s right … I’m taking Monday OFF so Kyle and I can spend a day together! As you can see, the 9 days (11th-20th) are all over the place and I have not really had the time to spend with Kyle due to the traveling, editing and keeping on top of daily business tasks. Not exactly sure what Kyle has up his sleeves for Monday … hiking? nice relaxing homemade dinner? Not sure, but I am definitely looking forward to some time to remind myself that I need to breathe once in a while and spend it with my love. šŸ™‚ I apologize if you do not hear from me in the next few days via email, but I will catch up with you on Tuesday, October 22nd! I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing weekend!!! Remember to take some time for yourself and your family/friends!!!

You are so amazing! We are so grateful for you, and making the trek all the way down to Blacksburg for us. šŸ™‚ Don’t let your to do list get you down! And, if our images are on your to do list for today, it’s okay if we get them a few days later than planned. You gotta do YOU sometimes! šŸ™‚ Keep up the great work, Steph!
