2014 Memory Jar

This year I’m doing something a little different. My sister introduced me to the “yearly memory jar”! She found it … guess where? Of course Pinterest! Haha! But I was thrilled to try something so beneficial to the year. So the purpose of setting up the memory jar is so at the end of the year, you open it up and look through all of the random wonderful moments that happened throughout the year. It is a wonderful way to bless the year and end it on a positive note! So I’m doing just that! 🙂

Starting on January 1st, write down POSITIVE things that happen on small pieces of paper. Moments include small gifts, accomplished goals (A MUST!), the beauty of nature, “LOL” moments, memories worth saving and of course daily blessings. Once December 31st approaches, open the jar and read through the great things you experienced over the year.

I designed my jar to fit the branding of my office space so I can display it. 🙂 One thing I want to accomplish this year is calligraphy! My mom actually has a calligraphy set, so I’m snatching it from her this winter and experimenting with it. In the meantime, I thought I would do a little something for the jar. An easy way to ensure your writing will be great is to write it out beforehand on a piece of paper and then tape it on the inside of the jar so you can see the placement and KNOW what to expect since jars do not have a flat surface making it a little challenging. Then of course finish it off with ribbon and a lovely blush pink paper for the inside to make the letting pop!

I cannot wait to start using it! 🙂
