JR & Stephanie | The Winery at Bull Run, Centreville, Virginia Wedding Photographer

It wasn’t that long ago when JR, Steph and I met at my parent’s farm for their engagement portraits to frolic in wildflowers. 🙂 We hit it off from our initial meeting together as we drank wine with Stephanie’s family at the Winery at Bull Run. It was a gorgeous December day … gorgeous enough to be outside! <= Crazy weather!! Stephanie’s family was hilarious and I soon found out at the wedding reception how even MORE hilarious the crowd was together! They kept me laughing the entire time. 🙂 JR and Stephanie are some of the sweetest, genuine, down to earth people I know! We have been anticipating July 3rd for a while and I could not believe it has already happened!! Where has the time gone?!

I didn’t realize because of the Fourth of July weekend, despite the cloudy weather conditions on Sunday, how crowded the Winery at Bull Run was going to be! The busiest I have ever seen it! The great thing about the space was that the ruins created a little privacy for our photo time. Plus, with the rain in the forecast, I could not be more relieved that JR and Steph chose to do a first look prior to the ceremony. We would have been drenched if we had waited to do the photos afterwards!! We didn’t really anticipate for the consistent rain even before the ceremony, but I mean who ever really wants to plan for rain on the big day? Fortunately, the drizzle rain was doable with the trees creating a little shelter for us as we worked through the photos. 🙂 Thank you, Lord! By the time I was finishing up with the wedding party and moved on the groomsmen, the rain picked up a little harder where they definitely had to host the ceremony inside. They made a smart and wise decision! Plus, JR and Steph liked the barrel room so it was a great alternative location! Stephanie actually joked about the way things worked out. 🙂 She received news a couple weeks prior that because her grandmother was going into surgery just days before the wedding day, her grandparents would not be able to attend their granddaughter’s wedding. She prayed that her grandparents would be able to attend, even if it meant rain. Turned out that her grandmother was able to make it and now this will always be something they can laugh about as she said she bargained with God. 🙂 Haha! Everything worked out beautifully!!!

They had one heck of a reception party! You’ll definitely see that below. 🙂 Many laughs and smiles … Even some air guitar playing and tangoing with a glass of wine! 😉 Hahah! Really, this crowd was great and enjoyed every minute of this wedding. THANK YOU JR & STEPH for giving me great pleasure in documenting your special day! Truly an honor!!!
