I’ve had the privilege of exploring many new venues this year and Shadow Creek was one of them! I arrived early Saturday to scope out the property and to decide whether or not the ground was doable for running around. I have to admit that the ground was pretty saturated but the wedding party were troopers and made it work. On Saturday, we were still dealing with the remanence from the rainy week but I’m glad it wasn’t actually raining, rather misting. Nothing that would ruin hair, fortunately!
Oh, where do I begin with these two? I had the best time photographing their engagement portraits last fall and knew I was in for a treat on their wedding day! Justin and Sammy are playful and sweet. I have so many silly natural, candid photos of them which I personally feel speaks to their personalities so well. One of my favorite, funny moments of the day, was when Justin’s daughter, Lily, pouted to take photos with her dad. It was a cute but real moment. I mean, it’s only the start of a girl’s life but I know they will cherish these photos. 😉 We gave her a little break and I went up to her asking if she wanted to play a game and attack daddy! As soon as I said that, her face lit up and she rushed up behind him with a big smile on her face! It was so sincere and adorable! After editing these photos of Justin, Sammy and Lily, they are some of my favorite photos! 🙂
I love when couples embrace portrait time together! Even though they didn’t have a first look, we made sure to have plenty of time for portraits. 🙂 We even had the wedding party randomly chime in to get them laughing (wasn’t planned but it was great timing)! After we finished outside, we came inside to start the party! Their reception space was decorated beautifully! One of my favorite spots was the dessert bar because they decorated it so uniquely with individual servings of pies. It was so sweet and unique that Sammy’s sisters sang a song to the newlyweds as their toast. They changed the lyrics to “Wagonwheel” to go along with Justin and Sammy’s love story. It was so sweet! DJ WillGralley made sure the guest boogied down on the dance floor! Family and friends danced for hours until the sparkler exit just so happened to come naturally together. It just seemed like everyone filed outside all at once without anyone making an announcement which was funny! I’m convinced they were professional wedding guests. 😉 Haha! Overall, it was a beautiful celebration from start to finish and I’m SO glad Allie and Phil’s wedding connected me with Justin and Sammy!!!
