I know some people are taking today off for Columbus Day, but this is my busy season which means today is a work day! In fact, I woke up at 5:30 a.m. this morning for a BEAUTIFUL sunrise session in D.C.! I have to admit, I’m not an early bird. Although once I’m up and going then I’m good (no coffee necessary). 🙂 I know I’m not the only one who struggles with getting up. The alarm seems to come sooner than I like, but weddings/engagement sessions motivate me to get up somehow. 😉 Cannot wait to share photos from this morning on the blog later this week!
I hope everyone enjoyed the PERFECT Sunday weather yesterday!! Wasn’t it necessary after the hurricane weather? I’m praying for everyone who was affected by the storm. 🙁 It’s tragic to see the photos online. Especially Haiti. It was four years ago when I ventured to Haiti for a mission trip and seeing the devastation makes me want to plan another trip shortly! Early last week, I was concerned for my Friday/Saturday weddings watching Hurricane strengthen and project it’s path up the east coast. The track predicted the storm would hit VA Saturday and I was a little concerned we would have to deal with torrential downpour rain and WIND. Not ideal for the venue I was photographing. FORTUNATELY, the hurricane was slow moving and steered away from hitting Virginia. We did experience the rain on Saturday, but I’m glad we didn’t have wind mixed in. WHEW! 🙂 Looking forward to sharing Chris and Chanel’s wedding as well as Matt and Tina’s wedding on the blog this week! It turned out to be a beautiful weekend, after all!
I have to admit that I spent my Sunday with a “wedding hangover” (no drinking involved to create this feeling, just 20 hours of photographing). With all of the rain on Saturday, I forgot that I needed to drink plenty of water! Whoops! So I spent yesterday relaxing, eating yummy apple crisp ice cream from MooThru and watching the Redskins WIN. 🙂 Woohoo! Happy Columbus day, everyone!
