Christmas Decor | First Christmas in My New Home

Hard to believe in February will be my one year anniversary in my new home. After settling in April, it has been a joy embracing the space and getting to know my neighbors! I look around every day with a humble heart and thank God for where I am today. Thankful for a roof, water, heat, food, family, friends and so much more. I never want to lose sight of that and hope you are able to take a moment during this Holiday season and be thankful for what you have in your life. After visiting Haiti years ago for a mission trip, I have a different view of life. Haitians live VERY minimally, but they are happy and grateful! Many times in America, we (including myself) all “want” more and/or bigger, but it’s important to look around and remind ourselves to be thankful for what/who we have in our lives. Everything is temporary, and you never know what tomorrow will bring, so it’s important to embrace and carry a humble heart into the New Year. <3 I’m thankful for YOU! By the way, I’m thankful for YOU! Many times, I find myself looking around my home and be reminded of you because of your enthusiasm, encouragement and support. Over five years ago, I was on a different career path and engaged with different goals and dreams. It’s crazy how God will take you through twists and turns, but He obviously had a different plan for me and I am the happiest I have been! I’m so so so grateful. I’m looking forward to what 2017 has in store, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a good year! I have already dreamt big goals and missions for the New Year and cannot wait to share them with you!

To celebrate my favorite season of the year, you should expect me to share some Christmas decor around my home. 😉 I love decorating and love Christmas, so I’m excited to show you around the main living space! Lots of greenery, pops of red and neutral-colored tree decor. I bought a fabulous electric fireplace from Wayfair back in the spring when they had huge sales and this is the moment I have been waiting for! In the space I rented for years, I didn’t have a mantel to decorate. The fireplace at my parent’s house is the centerpiece of the dining room and I wanted to make sure it was the same in my own home. Now that everything is decorated, I don’t want to take it down!! It’s so festive and cheerful! I’ll have to embrace these photos during the remainder of the year and look forward to the next Christmas season. 🙂
