David & Lindsay | Dominican Republic Destination Wedding Photographer

The sun was shining bright, and spirits were amped for Cinco de Mayo. After all, this was a very special occasion for David and Lindsay! They met on that very day years ago, so naturally, their wedding theme was, “It All Started with a Margarita!” 🙂 We all gathered at the BEAUTIFUL Excellence El Carmen in the Dominican Republic days before the Friday festivities. My jaw DROPPED walking around the resort! The bedrooms were incredible as well as the outdoor space. I believe there were 27 pools or something like that? Insane! We hung around one of the pools with the crew on a daily basis, and I could not believe the luck we had with the weather! The week prior, the rain was apparently so bad that no one was able to enjoy the outdoor space. I’m so glad we came down when we did because ironically that icky rain was happening in VA while we were in the DR. I’m so grateful their wedding didn’t happen back at home!!

David and Lindsay’s friends were all there to help celebrate not just the big day, but every day we were there! I had the best time intentionally getting to know each of the crew members … They were a FUN and entertaining bunch! We made countless small world connections that blew my mind! Because it was an all-inclusive resort, it was one of the most relaxing times together. There were absolutely no worries when you’re on island time!

The day of David and Lindsay’s wedding, we watched the weather to make sure rain was out of sight. I guess the island forecast changes regularly, so we were SO fortunate when we had a beautiful sunset their special day! And of course, I’m so relieved they were able to have their outdoor ceremony!! It was a gorgeous backdrop facing the water!! Before Lindsay walked around the corner to make her way to the alter, David was already tearing up! She walked in grinning from ear to ear seeing the love of her life waiting for her. Actually, you will notice the happiness in these photos!! I absolutely love it!

Originally, David and Lindsay were supposed to have their reception outside, but because of the possibility of rain, they moved it inside. Well, I’m so glad they did because the reception space was BEAUTIFUL! It was the best move because even at night, the humidity was pretty high, which I’m sure would have affected the dancing momentum. Although, nothing surprises me from this crew. LOL! I don’t think I laughed so hard on the dance floor before! Every turn I made, there was something picture worthy happening! Backflips, “The Time of my Life” lift … and even a little Magic Mike action. LOL! I am so glad so many loved ones came out to celebrate this special time with these two!
