I’ll never forget the first meeting I had with Amy. It wasn’t long before we realized that I HAD to meet her and Travis in person ASAP! After our meeting, I had to text my mom because I could not believe how we lived pretty similar lives from the farm life and our participation in the Dairy Princess program! Haha! I honestly don’t know many people who even know about the pageants, so it naturally came to my surprise when that was brought up during our initial meeting!

Travis, Amy and I met at Soleado Lavender Farm in Maryland on a beautiful sunny day for their engagement portraits! This session was definitely anticipated and looking through these photos make me so happy! The lavender was in full bloom and so fluffy! I also loved seeing the variation of the coloring, from a dark purple to even white! We weren’t expecting all of the bees, but I’m glad they weren’t scared or allergic to them because these photos would be a different story. 😉 Haha! My expectations were exceeded, and I cannot wait to photograph them again next year for their farm wedding!!! EEEPPP!

It was a hot July day and I had just arrived home to find a trailer load of straw ready to be unloaded in the barn. So, I put on my jeans and headed down to help the guys that delivered it. As I turned the corner, I didn’t recognize the faces on the trailer. I’ll never forget shaking Travis’ hand for the first time as a strong handshake is a great first impression for me. His amazing work ethic and quiet, humble nature caught my attention. A few days later I was delighted to receive a message from Travis and our dating adventure began.

I knew about one month in to dating Amy that I wanted to marry this girl. After two and a half years of adventures together, I finally gathered up enough courage to ask her. Her mom helped me plan a birthday party for Amy in March. We invited all of our close family and friends. Amy was opening presents with everyone gathered around and for the last present, I walked up to hand it to her. When she opened the box, it appeared to be full of soybeans (my nickname from her family became soybean after we spent many dates checking bean fields together). I told her to dig through and find the present hidden in the beans. I saw her face light up when she felt the ring in her fingers, so I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Thankfully she said yes!
