Going into Adam and Laura’s wedding, Laura described the day as “simply elegant.” What I loved about their special day was their focus on their guests. They were surrounded by dear family and friends Sunday evening as they tied the knot! 🙂 And gosh, it was a PERFECT day for their celebration!!! The weather was just right, and they had the most beautiful, glowy light for their ceremony and portraits. 🙂 I’m so glad we caught the sunset just in time before the reception started!!
I keep realizing from time after time that men have it SO easy the morning/afternoon before the ceremony. While the girls run around getting prepped with hair and makeup, the guys are sometimes off doing some sort of relaxing activity. In this case, because the wedding was hosted at Old House Vineyards, the guys were found earlier in the day hanging out at the distillery. Such a manly thing to do, right? Ha! In the meantime, Laura and the girls were inside getting prepped for the ceremony. Laura looked stunning in her beautifully fitted dress, and I love that she wore her mom’s veil! So special.
The ceremony took place on the island in the middle of the property — Gorgeous setup!!! Laura walked with her father across the bridge towards Adam, and of course, it was very emotional for many!! 🙂 It was a beautiful ceremony, and they were finally pronounced as husband and wife after vows and rings were exchanged!!! As the sun went behind the distant treeline, Adam and Laura locked a personalized locket on the island dock and tossed the key into the water. I love this tradition Old House Vineyards does with every couple!!! It reminds me of Paris. 🙂
Before the party officially began, people were dancing in their seats as Nate played music for the bridal party introductions. I loved sensing their energy before the dance floor was even open! 🙂 As soon as the sun went down, though, the weather became a bit chilly!!! Fortunately, for my DJ friend, Nate, he had an extra hand warmer on hand! WHEW! That saved me from freezing that night. 😉 I just wanted to join everyone on the dance floor to keep warm! Ha! Laura surprised me at one point of the evening when a Missy Elliott (I believe it was her song) came on, and Laura rapped the entire song!!! You go, girl!!! The night ended with a group sing-along, which was the perfect way to end the evening. 🙂
Thank you, Adam and Laura, for having me photograph your engagement portraits and wedding day!!! <3 I loved getting to know you both throughout our time together and hope to see you in the near future!! Best wishes to you two as you prepare for the big move this upcoming winter season!!!! In the meantime, enjoy some of my favorites from your wedding day!! Congrats!!!
Congratulations!!!!
