I remember my first meeting with Morgan and Cam. In fact, I made sure to bring up the laugh with Morgan the day of her wedding because I couldn’t help but think, “Oh, that’s SO Morgan!” Haha! She’s all about comfort, which I love!!! I mean, I love coming home after a day out and immediately hopping into comfy clothes. 🙂 During our meeting, she seriously considered wearing slippers during the reception to get into “comfy mode.” Well, her wedding shoes were just as comfy, and she ended up sporting the slippers during her rehearsal dinner. Bummed I missed out on the comfy action because I would’ve brought my own slippers to wear during the reception! 😉
When I arrived at Airlie last Saturday, Morgan was just … hanging out! I hesitated because that’s usually not the case! Everyone’s hair and makeup were done, and they were able to relax and hang out. Do you know what that meant? This wedding was on schedule! But you have to expect that from Morgan because she’s so on top of things!! My type A personality was so happy!!! 😉 I spent a little bit of time photographing her pretty details before she got into her dress and I couldn’t help but admire her gown! It’s actually a two piece dress, which she defined as ultimate comfiness! Haha!
After Cam and Morgan were all dolled up, it was time to see each other!!! We drove around the property taking photos, and I couldn’t be more grateful they had a golf cart to make this happen!!! I’m going to HIGHLY advise any future Airlie brides of mine to do this because it saved us SO much time instead of walking! The property is huge, so with a golf cart, we were able to get around efficiently! I took them to a beautiful red tree that was meant for their wedding day portraits, and holy cow, it was gorgeous! Once Morgan had her red faux fur stole on, it was too perfect in that setting! At one point, we had a good laugh because I didn’t realize how loud the leaves were while walking around until I was trying to call out directions. They couldn’t hear a single thing I was saying!!! Well, I guess next time I’ll have my couples tip-toe through the leaves. 😉
We ended up at the beautiful Spanish staircase where we found another wedding happening on the property! Busy weekend!!! We met up with their pup and the wedding party there and started taking photos before the ceremony began. You must remember Carlos from their engagement portraits?! I’m glad he was able to make an appearance for these pictures too!! As we were taking the groomsmen and bridal party portraits, I couldn’t help but admire Morgan’s craftsmanship on the flowers!!! She made her own bouquet as well as her bridesmaid and the boutonnieres for the men out of fabric!!! So impressed!! She did a beautiful job, especially with the color balance! Now I need to look up if she has a business going on that I didn’t know beforehand! 😉
Finally!!! It was time for Cam and Morgan to tie the knot!!! What I thought was sweet was when Cam got emotional as Morgan made her way down to him at the altar. It’s funny because a lot of couples choose to not do the first look because they are afraid of the moment taken away at the ceremony. Fun little fact: Morgan packed tissues for their first look, but Cam didn’t cry until he saw her at the ceremony. 🙂 So that special moment wasn’t taken away or downplayed, which I know it a big thing for couples who want to steer towards the traditional reveal. <3 Speaking of emotional, they wrote their own vows to read them during the ceremony, and it got everyone teared up!! The fact these two found each other was no coincidence. They were made for each other. <3 I could see it the entire day and before their wedding! I love it when I can tell couples are going to last forever!!! And these two will, without a doubt!
Following the first kiss as husband and wife, we snuck out of the celebration to take a few newlywed portraits! They wanted to enjoy their cocktail hour with their family and friends, so we made sure to take advantage of our short time together and capture moments with the magical sunset glowy light!! Then we discretely walked into the reception room, so they had the opportunity to admire the setup before guests were officially allowed in. 🙂 Many guests wanted to slip into the reception because it was a COLD November day! I don’t blame them, but I’m glad everyone came appropriately dressed for the temperature while enjoying the warmth from the outdoor heaters. I loved their fall themed details! They had caramel apple favors and for dinner, they served family style Thanksgiving! So appropriate for a November wedding! Of course, to go along with the theme, they had pies, but to satisfy their hearts, they also had a donut bar! Yummy!!!
After the guests came in to admire the details and sit in their seat, the party began! I love it when couples mix up tradition on a wedding day. Morgan is very close to her grandfather and made sure he had a special role on Saturday. From the first look with him before seeing Cam earlier in the day to a special dance with him during the reception, it was apparent how much he means to her. <3 And I just loved seeing him smiling the entire day, including in these photos below!!! Cam and Morgan spent their reception enjoying intentional time with their guests. It was undeniable how much every guest meant to them as they floated around the room talking to their family and friends. After everyone came together for “Shout” and “training” around the room, Cam and Morgan swapped shoes to play the shoe game! They were so cute because many of the questions they found themselves raising both shoes in the air — Again, they were meant to be! 😉 I had the best time photographing their wedding day, and I know these smiles and laughs won’t end here! So happy for Cam and Morgan!!! <3
