I was so tempted to change the title of this blog post from “Weekend Recap” to “Three Week Recap!” Ha! I’m not sure where the time has gone, but there is SO much to catch up!!! This season has been busier than ever, and I’m so grateful for your continuous support and encouragement even when I was away from the computer. π That’s right, I have tried taking time away from the computer to really build intentional time with family, friends as well as personal time. But I’ve been anxious for this day because I’m back in action! I’ll be spending the day culling through Saturday’s wedding and responding to emails. So much to catch up!
We won’t go into details regarding business today because you’ll be seeing a lot of recent work this week, so let’s catch up on a personal note, shall we? π
Over the past couple of months, I’ve had some reflection time with myself and God. He has been speaking to me so much lately, and I cannot help but be grateful for where I am in my life. Tis the season to be grateful, right? I look back on my struggles and know there was a purpose for each and every stepping stone. AlthoughΒ my vision was clouded, there is always a purpose that will be revealed in the future. I don’t know what the future has in store for me, but I know that can firmly hold on to His hand and walk in confidence, and this is the first time in my life where I feel like I am where I am meant to be! What a great feeling!! π
So, let’s catch up and rewind time from Thanksgiving week!!!
*Where’s that embarrassedΒ emoji face when you need it!*
Florida
Every couple of years, my family and I will take a road trip to Florida (although, I cheated this year and flew) to soak up sunshine and spend quality time with my grandparents. I always look forward to this and wished the time didn’t fly by so fast!! I never have enough time with my sweet and adorable grandparents!! While we were in Orlando, we made sure to go to Sea World which was a FUN time!!!
Uh, I cannot believe I’m sharing this photo below!!! LOL! I think we enjoyed the rollercoaster. π HA!
My poor dad was excited to eat my sister’s cookies, and it turned out to be rock solid (by accident) … He threw the cookie into a glass of milk and fell asleep waiting for it to soften! LOL! So we had a girlsΒ night out and kicked some escape room bootay!
I made sure to squeeze in some “me” time!!! π The best! <3
I was so lucky to discover a 5k Turkey Trot happening the morning of Thanksgiving! Don’t mind if I do!!! π After squeezing in a run, we drove up to visit my grandparents and spent the entire day eating, laughing and watching football. I love these two!!! <3
Thanksgiving Weekend Festivities Continued…
Spent quality time with my two other sisters from other mothers. π HA! Love these girls!!!
Yay!!! My sweet friend and I had the opportunity to try out Gateau’s new bakery in Warrenton!!! <3 It was DELICIOUS, and Lora’s building is adorable!!! Be sure to check it out next to the downtown courthouse!!!
11 Christmas mini sessions and a Nutcracker date night with my mom ended the Holiday weekend on a high note! <3
Back to Reality…
Well, I say “back to reality,” but not really. π LOL! I kept myself busy with a ton of editing, but also made sure to squeeze in other fun festivities before departing for Paris! So I started decorating for Christmas and just finished decorating the tree last night. π I love this time of the year!!!
I started feeling sick at one point from the hustle and bustle, but I managed to overcome it literally overnight!! Thanks to tea, relaxation time, vitamins and kombucha! Even during the exhaustion time, I managed to beat my best 1-mile time! Just a year ago, I was clocking about one minute slower than this time!Β Training is paying off. πΒ
Good thing I healed quickly because I was able to check off my yearly bucket list Old Rag hike!! It was a beautiful and perfect day! π I was also impressed with these numbers below! Haha!
Paris
Paris photos and stories will be shared soon on the blog!! Too much to share to fit into this post!! π π π
Back to Reality … again!
After a LONG day of traveling from Europe back home, I managed to catch up with my family before heading home. Turned out my sister decorated the outside of my house while I was away!!! SO sweet!!! <3 Great surprise when I drove up the road! I immediately PASSED out after being up for almost 24-hours… WHEW. I guess that was the best way to reset my internal clock!
Oh, this day was FUN … and COLD!!! My dad and I spent Friday night together watching the Dukes bring in another victory in the quarter-finals!!! YAYAYAY! It was the best game of the year and the most intense! We really thought this game would end our chances for the Championship, but we won at the very last second of the game with the longest field goal our kicker has scored!!! AH! Best type of games! π Next weekend is the semi-finals against South Dakota State. Let’s go, Dukes!!!!
Saturday was the most magical wedding day in the snow!!! I’m SO excited to share the photos on the blog this week!!!! π π π
After a late night, I had an earlyyyyyy rise with one of my sweet and hilarious friends yesterday morning! Yesterday was my first day really feeling the jet lag… I was struggling!!! Fortunately, we spent the “run” catching up with no pressure to beat our best times. π We did the 5k Santa Clause style! HA!
One of my favorite Christmas traditions!! I ended the weekend watching my sister and cousin sing in the living Christmas tree! π So proud of them!! It’s always a beautiful Christmas celebration/tradition!
These past three weeks have been busy but amazing! I cannot wait to share photos from recent sessions/wedding as well as from Paris!!! I hope you are enjoying the Holiday season so far! XOXO!
*Thanks, Krysta Norman, for the Paris headshot!!! π
