We are still early in the wedding season, and I’m already gushing over these photos from Mike and Ashley’s big day last Saturday!!! I knew their day was going to be as beautiful and lovely as they are. I met their super adorable little one, Caroline, at their engagement session a couple weeks ago and they were saying how important it was for their daughter to be a special part of the wedding day. With the smile and curiosity of that girl, without a doubt, I knew she was going to be stealing hearts! She definitely stole mine, especially looking through the moments documented of her. <3
I arrived at Fauquier Springs Country Club last Saturday in the hopes we would see snow during their wedding. And, boy, did we see some snow! The snow didn’t appear until half-way through the first look, and it was magical!! I about melted to pieces, though, when Ashley brought Caroline down for the first look. Ashley told Caroline to go find daddy, and she walked up ever-so-cautiously around him to make sure he was indeed Daddy. Glad she naturally knows about “stranger danger!” HA! As soon as they locked eyes, she threw her arms in the air and yelled, “Daddy!!” It was the sweetest little moment! I’m glad all three of them have these memories to forever reminisce. 🙂 The snow started to fall, and the wedding party rushed outside to quickly have their photos taken before they froze. I’m so grateful they pushed through the cold temps and icy/snowy conditions because these photos turned out beautifully! 🙂
After much anticipation, it was finally time for Mike and Ashley to tie the knot!!! They had an intimate ceremony tucked away inside. The room cast a beautiful ambiance from the lit candles and twinkle lights draped in front of the mirror and over the prop trees. The ceremony was simple but beautiful in the way they honored loved ones who couldn’t be a part of the day. The best part of the day happened right when Mike and Ashley were pronounced as husband and wife! When the officiant asked for them to kiss, Caroline yelled out, “Mom and Dad, KISS!!!” We all got a kick out of it, but gosh, that little girl is the cutest thing!!!
After they were wisped away from the guests following the ceremony, we photographed family portraits and then we were on our way to start the party!! 🙂 Their guests mingled, dined, and danced the afternoon away! Before the real dancing started, Mike, Ashley, and Caroline shared a special dance together. It was a mix of four different songs that were meaningful to them, but it was so fun when “Sweet Caroline” came on! The entire room chanted, “SWEET CAROLINE… DA… DA… DA!” with their arms stretched out towards her! She was a little shy, but I mean, I would be shy if everyone was singing my name and reaching out! HA! But it was the cutest way of including her during their first dance as husband and wife. 🙂 I also cracked up during one of the speeches when the best man was talking about Caroline, and then pointed out that she was licking my light stand right when he spotted her in the crowd! HAHA! Indeed, she was licking my stand, which created another unforgettable “that’s so Caroline!” How can you not love that little girl? The party carried into the evening hours as the snow continued to fall, making it one beautiful, winter wedding. 🙂
Thank you, Mike and Ashley, for having me by your side!!!! These moments documented below absolutely melt my heart, especially because of little Caroline. She made the day so special for you guys! I’m excited for you all and know the future is looking as bright as can be! Congrats!!! Enjoy a glimpse of your wedding day from my perspective. XOXO!
