We are in the middle of the “2017 Favorites” series, and today I’m sharing some of my favorite ceremony photos/moments from last year. 🙂 Even though I’m nine months late sharing some of my favorite photos I took last year, I’m enjoying reliving my couple’s celebrations! And looking through these ceremony photos below, I see a range of emotions; admiration, laughter, anticipation, surprise, and tears of amazement. One detail I really enjoy from wedding to wedding is how the officiant talks about the couple. They sometimes share stories about the bride and groom’s initial thoughts about one another when they first met, which always involves giggles. It’s sweet hearing how their love story led to their special day. <3 Even though you cannot hear those love stories through these photos, you can SEE their deep affection towards one another. I’m honored to stand by my couples throughout their big day and watch them experience these feelings! It draws me in and I cannot help but pursue these moments by not just documenting it, but empathize with their reality. I believe that helps me as a wedding photographer to float on cloud nine with them. 🙂
Last year, we experienced a lot of rain (sound familiar in Virginia?). So, unfortunately, it left my couples in a position of making last-minute decisions whether or not to move their ceremony indoors. With rain anticipated for this weekend, I’ll have to share some of my favorite rainy weddings on the blog this week!! 🙂 Your wedding day is what you make of it, so I’m grateful that my 2017 rainy weddings were in high spirits!!! <3 Their joy was undeniable, despite the weather!!! I mean, rain is good luck, right?! 😉 Not only will you notice the range of emotions in these photos, but you’ll see that every wedding has their own personality. The color scheme, backdrop, formality vs. casualty, and the details all play a part in making their day unique and “so them!”
Looking back through last year’s photos made me get all of the feels again. <3 It was a beautiful year, and I’m already anxious to share what I documented this 2018 season!!! I hope you enjoy looking back through my experiences from last year as well. 🙂
