I love accepting a good challenge from time to time. When I first shook Julian’s hand to introduce myself, I almost heard, “Hi, I’m Julian, and I cannot wait to be done with these photos.” Not really! HAHA! But as you can expect from a typical high school senior, this wasn’t something he had dreamt of doing his entire career in school. I told him that we will make this session fun and different! I didn’t realize how “different” this session was going to be until he was dared to catch a chicken! HAHAHAHAHA! “It’s not a real portrait session until you catch a chicken!” Just wait till you see how he tried catching the chicken below. 😉 #priceless
As we started photographing, I love how focused he was. Maybe it was the music he was playing from his phone in his pocket. Although, it created some laughs once in a while when I had to snap into “Blue Steel” mode and an unexpected song came on. Ha! I loved that when I asked Julian to “Blue Steel it,” he couldn’t help but laugh because he loved the Zoolander reference and … of course, with me laughing didn’t help! But he honestly nailed it!!! One of my FAVORITES is a black and white photo towards the end of this blog post of him leaning on the fence! Julian was a pro and was able to turn on that model look quickly.
While we bounced around from spot to spot, I had the opportunity to chat and get to know Julian a little bit. When I saw how tall he was, I immediately thought, he must be an athlete! Apparently, Julian gets that comment often, but he’s hoping to get into wrestling in college. He doesn’t have a set plan as to where he wants to attend, but he has his eyes set on Radford University! I have many clients come from there and absolutely LOVE it! The community and experience are excellent from what I’ve heard. 🙂 With graduation just months away, seniors are finishing their to-do list before the big day. One of those items on the “to-do list” is having their senior portraits done, of course! As we all know, the school takes their pictures too, and what I found HILARIOUS was one of the photos Julian and his mom showed me from when he had his done. The school legitimately made them do the “thinking pose.” HAHA! LOVE IT! I can only imagine what his mom was thinking when she was scrolling through his smiling photos from school and then seeing the “look in the distance and intently think” pose as the final photo… I don’t know about her, but I would have thought he snuck that in as a prank! It wasn’t a hoax, but it was definitely a great laugh when we talked about it! Of course, we had to sneak in a thinking pose as one of the last photos from this session (not included in this blog post though, sorry, Julian to disappoint you as I know how much you probably want that blasted all over the web. ;)) HAHAHA! I’m glad the session was fun for everyone involved!
Thank you, Julian, for entertaining myself and well as yourself during your portrait session! It was so much fun, and I hope that the remainder of your senior year goes smoothly!! Enjoy this preview from our time together! Congrats!!!
And this is Julian’s way of catching a chicken… HAHAHA!
The chickens came back around to torment Julian this time. 😉 HAHA!
One of many favorites!!!
You’re *almost* FREE!!!! HAHAH!
Julian, congrats on your upcoming graduation next spring!!!
