OH MY GOSH… My heart eye emoji is at max capacity with these photos!!! Not only are Rhett and Caroline incredibly sweet, but they are absolutely stunning together and not afraid to show off their love for life and each other in front of the camera. <3 The joy is evident in every photo, and I wonder if they are THIS happy now, I can only imagine the joy they will experience celebrating with their family and friends in a month! I cannot wait!!!! I knew in our initial conversation that we clicked, but when we got together last week, I really want to be real life friends with them! HA! They are so easy-going… In fact, I was very impressed with Caroline! We had to hike down a pretty rocky trail to get down to a part of the park. Not only did she manage in a pretty long dress, but she did it in heels! Love that!!! I’m sure Rhett kept thinking, “That’s the woman I get to marry!” It’s undeniable how happy these two are with each other. 🙂 Initially, we weren’t quite sure this session was going to happen because they lived across the country and time in VA was very limited. However, the stars aligned and they moved back to VA after relocating jobs!!! I was excited when Caroline told me this because we threw out the possibility of meeting up last year when I was visiting California, but the timing was a bit of a crunch. So when we were brainstorming location ideas for this session, Great Falls came up since it wasn’t too far away from the city and it had plenty of scenery! Funny enough, when we got to talking, Caroline said she thought she wanted a job working at Great Falls a long time ago! She’s so glad she didn’t end up working at a National Park because … Well, I’m sure her life would look a lot different right now!
I love seeing these two together and cannot wait to document their love again next month!!!!! SO CLOSE! YAY!!!
Caroline and Rhett’s Love Story
HOW CAROLINE AND RHETT MET
from Rhett’s point of view
Caroline and I met for the first time in May 2012 when we were both about to go on different study abroad trips through Virginia Tech. It was a brief introduction that we didn’t think much about because we were both in separate relationships at the time. Five months later we crossed paths again, but still the timing wasn’t right. January of 2013 rolled around, and it was the first day of spring semester. I saw an attractive girl walking in front of me who was going into the same class as I was. I sat down next to her so I could introduce myself, but before the words could come out of my mouth she said, “Rhett, right? I think we’ve met before.” She jokingly recounted our previous introductions which made me thoroughly embarrassed, but I still sat next to her and we talked every class. I loved her smile and how she thought I was funny. All I wanted to do was make her smile as much as possible (even if it meant passing notes in class). We started liking each other more and more and eventually started dating. The more time we spent together the more I realized that she wasn’t just one of the most beautiful girls I’d ever seen, but she also incredibly genuine, kind, creative, and incredibly funny herself. I felt (and still feel) like the luckiest man in the world to be with her. It wasn’t long before I knew I had found the one.
HOW RHETT PROPOSED TO CAROLINE
from Rhett’s point of view
Caroline had been telling me for years that she didn’t want to be engaged until we were 26 so I knew I could only properly surprise her if we were still 25. The tricky part was that we were living in California at the time and I wanted to make sure I asked in Virginia where she grew up. It was in August 2017 when I decided I would surprise her with tickets to fly home in November to visit family and friends. Caroline and I had lived in Alexandria, Virginia before we moved to California, so I planned for our friends to meet that weekend for brunch in one of our favorite spots, Old Town Alexandria. I made sure to tell our friends prior to brunch that they had to come up with excuses to leave right afterward so that Caroline and I would be alone. After brunch we walked outside until I led us to a park where we used to picnic. As she was walking ahead of me, I got down on one knee and called her name to have her turn to me. I asked her to marry me and (after a few seconds of stunned silence) she said yes!
Thank you, Caroline and Rhett, for a super joyful time last week!!! You’re getting married NEXT MONTH!!!!! YIPPPEEEE! I cannot WAIT. Enjoy this preview from our time together!!! CONGRATS!!! XOXO!
