Codey & Anna | Great Falls National Park, Virginia Engagement Photographer

Codey, Anna, their adorable pup, and I met on what it seems to be a pretty expected hot/humid May day. Is this a sign of what is to come this summer? GOODNESS!!! Although, these two made it look like a piece of cake to run around, climb rocks in heels, and avoid distraction from people around us — You cannot tell in these photos!!!! WOW. I was excited to return to Great Falls because of the dreamy, adventurous atmosphere! It’s a great mix for those who love hikes, nature, and maybe even the beach! I love the little tucked away spots we photographed throughout our time together. 🙂 And it was so great getting to know Codey and Anna beyond a simple phone call! One of the many reasons why I enjoy engagement sessions — To get us interacting/comfortable with each other before the big day. Speaking of getting comfortable, I learned that Codey isn’t the biggest fan of heights and of course, I learned that by putting them close to the cliff… HA! I didn’t even know it until I asked if they were comfortable with the idea, so he totally pulled it off! But Codey was a true sport and was so sweet and kind the entire session with his sweetheart and their pup! One happy family. <3 I also learned how sporty Anna was growing up and it was fun chatting about her amazing athletic skills! Together, they make a great team and I cannot wait to photograph them with their family and friends next year!!!

Codey and Anna’s Love Story

HOW CODEY AND ANNA MET

from Anna’s point of view

Codey and I met through work when I was sent to the warehouse to train for two weeks. I got assigned to shadow him receiving and picking material for shipment. From day one, we started building a friendship.  As the two weeks progressed we spent less time working and more time laughing! We had so much fun together, my cheeks were in constant pain from smiles. 🙂 Every day I woke up excited to get to work and spend time with Codey. We decided that we would be great friends and spend time together after work (he even told me to start dating somebody else — lol!) but after hanging out several times, we both realized that we never wanted our fun together to end. We have been inseparable ever since! 🙂

HOW CODEY PROPOSED TO ANNA

from Anna’s point of view

A year later we went to a family gathering at his parent’s beach cottage.  We gathered around and held hands to say grace when Codey’s mom asked him if he would lead. Honestly, I’m not sure if he ever even asked me to marry him, the speech he had planned turned into some sort of whisper as he dropped to one knee holding out the ring. It was completely unexpected and surprising, I instantly dropped to my knees to meet him and gave him a big hug and said ‘Yes’!!!

Thank you, Codey and Anna, for a beautiful time together. 🙂 Even though it was pretty hot and we had some admirers of you two as well as your pup, you all made our time together so enjoyable!!! I’m SO excited for your June wedding next year! It’s going to be beautiful. <3 Enjoy these photos!! CONGRATS!!!
