And you were expecting a “Coffee Talk Monday” post … SIKE!!!! As Alex and I prepare for big changes NEXT WEEK (is this REAL LIFE?!), I want to share a quick thought. This isn’t just a reminder that I’ll be out of the office for a while as I prepare to marry my best friend and move to Florida, but also want to take the opportunity to thank you for your enthusiasm and love!!! Especially to those who have followed our journey. We are about to embark on the greatest adventure YET!!!
Next week will be an emotional one as I get to vow my love to my best friend at God’s altar. I was reading through the ceremony last night and got teary-eyed thinking about the vows we get to exchange to each other. What a selfless and beautiful commitment to not just each other, but to God (Ecclesiastes 4:12). What’s also sentimental about this celebration is this will be the only time in our life Alex and I will have our family and friends of this size in one spot! Without God and our family and friends, this day would be meaningless. Even through the past hurt we experienced, God has ALWAYS been faithful and showed us the way (Isaiah 30:21). I cannot wait to start this new chapter with Alex by my side. <3
Today to cap off the blog for about a month, I thought it would be fun to share Alex and my journey together! 🙂 ENJOY!!!! And if you haven’t read our engagement story, check it out HERE!!!
I cannot wait for more hiking adventures!!!
Ollie cannot wait either … HAHAHA!
Christmas is our favorite Holiday!
… And Ollie’s too. Because whatever Mommy and Daddy love, he has to too. 😉
And we can get into the 90s spirit any time of the day. HAHA! Alex totally knows how to rock that Fruit by the Foot and Hugs.
Dr. Schloe makes me so proud!!!
Loved our social gathering with friends!!! Cannot WAIT to see you all very soon (with better lighting)!!! 😉 HA!
AND this fun RVA crew!!!!
We also know how to get rough and tough… So much fun to challenge and encourage each other!
Gosh… This day. The first time Ollie met his Dad after coming home from a month-long medical mission trip! Gosh, I missed him so much!!!
Even through long distance, Ollie knew it wouldn’t be the last time he would see HIS best friend!!! The way Ollie loves Alex melts my heart every time. <3
Marrying Alex also means I’m marrying baseball! But what I’m REALLY looking forward to the most is spending time with these special men!!! <3 Maybe when it’s not 20 something degrees in April. 😉
After Alex moved down to Florida, we have enjoyed many traditions!!! One of my favorites being Mi Gente tacos on the beach. 🙂
<3 Love this guy!!!
Long distance isn’t always easy, but we have found ways to make it work!!! 🙂
Then there was that time when a hurricane pushed Alex north in the midst of not seeing each other for MONTHS. The stars aligned and we got to spend two nights in Nashville where we enjoyed a free concert!!! It was meant to be. <3
I am SOOO excited to call these two my bro/sis-in-laws!!! <3
I love our families!
Then Alex popped the question!!! With our favorite tradition (on the next level) … Mi Gente tacos on the beach! If you haven’t read our engagement story, check it out HERE!!!
On our Anniversary, I sent him this carved wooden box I made for us to collect special photo memories. We will use this box at our wedding to collect cards from our guests. 🙂 I cannot wait to add more memories in this box, especially from our wedding day and future adventures as husband and wife!
We gathered our families for the first time to enjoy a fun cake tasting! On a side note — THIS book is HIGHLY recommended whether you are single, engaged, or married! The notes I took from it will come in handy in the future and I look forward to rereading it. 🙂
We feel so loved by my couples!!!! <3
Then I found my dress with my special ladies!!! <3
I’ve had the privilege of working with friends while planning for our big day!!
Alex and I get the best of both worlds!!! My sister is making INCREDIBLY delicious cakes for our guests and Gateau is making a super special cake for Alex and I. <3 YUM.
Planning a wedding 1,000 miles away from your fiance isn’t the easiest, but I loved seeing his dedication to step in at any given a chance to help. 🙂 We even managed to bury the bourbon together via FaceTime too! Haha!
I cannot wait for the beach life … and who needs a tattoo ring when there is free sunshine? 😉
I cannot wait to get this crew on the dance floor and bust some moves!!!
The bridal shower my sister and mom hosted last weekend was amazinggggg!!! I cannot wait to gather everyone again next week!!! <3
ALEX — 11 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
