Coffee Talk Mondays

I cannot believe it’s Monday!! But you know what that means on this blog … It’s Coffee Talk and I’m currently sipping a half cup of vanilla latte as I prepare to publish this personal post. 🙂 Looking at these moments below from this past week looks like I had more playtime — Well, partially true as Alex and I played catch up from when I was in Virginia for over a week. 🙂 Next week is going to be brutal as he mentally prepares for an 80+ hour week. Yikes!!! I’ll be heading to VA this coming up weekend for my best friend’s bachelorette party so I’m going to work hard this week to finalize some edits from when I was in Virginia. 🙂 I cannot wait to deliver some pretty photos!!!! In the meantime, let’s catch up with what happened this past week/weekend. 🙂

MOCHA MOMENTS
THE SWEETER MEMORIES FROM THIS PAST MONTH

1
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS! 🙂

Thanks to one of my sweet brides for gifting me a SpaFinder gift card last year! While researching local places to use the card, The Henderson Resort & Spa popped up! Turns out that the Henderson is a sister of the Salamander Resort in Northern Virginia!!! So fun! We took advantage of a day off and celebrated Alex’s birthday with a couples massage and drinks by the pool. 🙂 And fortunately for Alex, he had the day off after his birthday so we continued the celebrating by snorkeling the Navarre reef! Although, I was a little too scared to go as far out in the Gulf as Alex did. Hopefully, I’ll conquer that fear before we move!!

KITCHEN UPGRADES

It’s the small things that can make a difference in a kitchen. 🙂 When Alex bought our house, we knew it wasn’t a forever home. There is a fine line of what to spend money on and what not to spend money on, but MAN … We should’ve switched out the faucet much sooner!!!! The dinky faucet that was in the house was tricky to work around when it came to filling up pots or cleaning dishes. Alex took the time yesterday to install our new high arched faucet (thanks to family/friends who gifted us Lowes gift cards from our wedding!!!!) and I wish we did this sooner because it’s a GAME CHANGER. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Happy wife, happy life!

Friday evening, I decided to tackle a little cosmetic fix by regrouting the kitchen countertop. The original grout was caved in and discolored and now the countertop looks new just from this simple fix of filling it in with new white grout! 🙂

SWEET SURPRISES!!!

There’s something so sweet about snail mail and surprise packages! 🙂 I don’t know how in the world my couple from a few weeks ago sent me a huge package of personalized goodies already!!! She’s so on top of her game and that thoughtful gesture just brightened my month!

Also, Alex and my SWEET and amazing photographer sent us a little goodie package filled with amazing moments from our wedding day. 🙂 I cannot believe our day flew by so fast!!! We are so grateful Anna captured our special day!!!

SOAKING IN THE SLOWER DAYS

One thing we are trying to do better is soaking in the slower days. Alex and I are both adventurers and love staying busy, but lately, we have appreciated the slower times watching baseball and enjoying dances in the kitchen to Frank Sinatra. I’ll cherish these moments forever because you never know where life will go next!

5
SUNSHINE & FRIENDS

We are grateful for friends in Florida who have boat access so we can build memories down here with them. <3 I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend my Saturday!!! Maybe not so many jellyfish. 😉 HA!

THE BITTER MEMORIES FROM THIS PAST WEEK

1
CONQUER MY FEAR

Anyone else afraid of being in deep, open water? I want to go in with no fear but I’m also reminded that the water is not necessarily our home and we are in a territory with lurking things in the shadows of the deep water. I’m not sure if it’s something that I experienced when I was young like the time when my friend came from Lake Anna covered in leeches … but it’s definitely a fear I hope to overcome while I live at the beach!!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!! <3 I hope this week is filled with blessings for you and your family!
