When I first met Nick and Khea, I wasn’t so sure Nick was excited to have his photos taken. I mean, I don’t know many men who really love it. But I reassured him that we were going to have fun! 🙂 Just a couple of days before their session, we found ourselves still finalizing plans, and I thought, why not add a pumpkin patch into the mix since they enjoy the fall season! During our first interaction, while getting to know Nick and Khea, I found that she has a passion for horseback riding and Nick LOVES biking. Because their proposal happened during a biking trip, I thought it would be very appropriate to incorporate their hobbies in their session. I’m so glad we did because the joy emulated in these photos obviously comes from the bond Nick and Khea share, but also from the passions they have for their hobbies. In fact, at one point during the session, I turned around and found Nick nuzzling his bike! HAHAHA! That was when I knew Nick was actually having fun with the session!!! 🙂 WIN!
Khea and Nick’s Love Story
HOW KHEA AND NICK MET
From Khea’s point of view
Our story begins in 7th grade band class. We became instant friends, and our friendship grew closer throughout high school. We had a lot of friends in common, so we were always around one another. Before we both left for college we decided to give dating a shot. We dated throughout college, all while trying to figure out who we were. Our careers took us in different directions, though we remained close friends. In January 2017 we decided to give dating another chance, to see if the spark was still there. All I can say is look at us now!!!
HOW NICK PROPOSED TO KHEA
From Nick’s point of view
The proposal took place in Ireland, while on vacation visiting Khea’s cousin Phil, and wife, Claire. We stayed the weekend at a bed and breakfast in Kilmackillogue, which was next to a pier with a mountain in the backdrop. The rooms sat on top of a pub, were guests and visitors got together.
The proposal happened after a 50-mile bike ride we did with her family and some friends. Towards the end of the ride, Phil and I rode ahead to get ready. We placed a bottle of champagne, and, engraved glasses with the date on them, behind a stacking crate at the end of the pier. When Khea and the company got back, we all headed to the pier to have dinner. Halfway through, I asked Khea if she would walk with me to the edge of the pier to take a picture. We walked to the edge and took a picture in front of the mountain backdrop. Then, after the picture, I gave her a hug and told her how much she meant to me. I told her that I loved her and that I knew that I didn’t want to spend life without her. Then I got one knee, and asked her to marry me! Thankfully and surprisingly, she said “YES”! I, then, revealed the champagne and glasses, we had a toast, and went to the pier to celebrate with everyone!
Thank you, Khea and Nick, for having me photograph this special and exciting time for you both as you prepare for next year’s BIG celebration!!!! 🙂 I love seeing the joy you two share with each other, and I cannot wait to document that again next year with your family and friends! CONGRATS and enjoy some of my favorites!!
CONGRATS!!!!
