I’ve known this beautiful family what feels like my entire life!! In fact, the Mast family was one of the first families in Warrenton, Virginia, who hired me as a photographer! And that was about a decade ago … Crazy!!! Seeing their kids grown, unfortunately, reminds me of my age, though. HA! But they are still as spunky and cute as ever!!! I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve known them their entire lives, but the kids were not afraid to be in front of my camera! Haha! And they were SO excited to show me their bunnies!!! Even though I didn’t realize that bunnies have very sharp claws. Ha! Learn something new from every session. 😉 Not only did they want to show off their furry pets, but their favorite spots around the farm and toys. I loved my time with them. <3 And following their session, we all got together to catch up which was the perfect ending to my Virginia visit!
It has been a gift knowing them and the kids over these years. 🙂 And I love every opportunity to catch up with them, including this session!!! The last time I visited their farm was around Christmas time a couple of years ago in the dark. Seeing it in the beautiful golden light had me dreaming what it must be like to live there. 🙂 Apparently, the sunsets are incredible, and the land is perfect for the kids to roam! Reminded me of growing up on my family farm. 🙂 I believe the property will help shape their kids to appreciate God’s beautiful land. And just thinking about how technology is a big time-sucker these days, outdoor entertainment will help free their spirits. 🙂 But most importantly, they have beautiful role model parents to look up to as well! I’m looking forward to watching the Mast family grow over the years to come. <3
How a Farm Blessed this Family
A note from Jenn
A little over two years ago, an opportunity to purchase a property that fit our needs almost perfectly blessed our family. It began with our parents coming to us after selling their home in 24-hours and asked if we were ready to build together. We were quite overwhelmed, to say the least. Especially since we were not looking to move. After a month or so of looking, they figured out there wasn’t much for them. The house required specific needs as well as wheelchair-accessible for my father.
A very special person in our lives, Jamie, who worked at our children’s school at the time, asked one morning how our parent’s search was going. I shared my frustration and told her it was not going very well. She then told us about a family from her class that was moving! The property had not been list, had two homes (one of them wheelchair-accessible), and it was local. She said that she thinks God told her to tell us (even though it was completely out of our budget).
We showed up at their door a few days later and knew it was meant to be! Every step of the way, things worked out for us to purchase the property. From financial to the property/layout to our parents convincing us to move. It has been a journey filled with trusting God’s plan for our lives, and one we are thankful for every day.
Thank You!!!
Thank you, Mast family, for having me photograph these portraits of you all around your BEAUTIFUL farm!!!! And thank you for sharing your story! What an encouraging testimony! Clearly, this was God’s plan all along for your family. <3 And I cannot wait to see all of the plans you have for your family and property come to life over the years to come. I love you all!!
