Coffee Talk Mondays

Wow… Tomorrow is DECEMBER! Can you believe it?! We are almost done with 2020!!! Despite the craziness, I’m counting my blessings. <3 Thanksgiving looked a LOT different this year since we weren’t able to travel back to Virginia and spend it with our families. But we were able to celebrate with friends here in Florida which was comforting! And thank goodness for technology, we were able to connect with our families 1,000+ miles away. šŸ™‚ I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, even if it looked different for you too!

During these next couple of weeks before the baby arrives, I’ll be finishing up final business tasks before my maternity leave! I’m not quite sure what the first couple of months will look like with a baby, but I hope to squeeze in a few blog updates with you all!!! šŸ™‚ I’m sure I’ll have a lot to share between the photos and stories! I appreciate your encouragement during this season!!! Especially with all of the crazy changes 2020 brought to my business. THANK YOU!!!

Check out what happened this past week!!!

“AS STUFFED AS A THANKSGIVING TURKEY!”

I would say I’m the one looking as stuffed as a Thanksgiving turkey, but looking at Ollie and Pixie says otherwise! HAHAHA! I hope everyone had a relaxing, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving! It has been quite the year, but we made it to this point. <3 Which reminds me if you haven’t heard of Ben Rector’s new song, you should listen to it!!!

CHRISTMASSSSSSS

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s time to get into the Christmas cheer!!! šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚ It’s my favorite time of the year, and I had every intention to decorate early … Well, because it’s 2020. But I was consumed taking care of baby prepping to-dos. And after having the mentality that I would only break out “just the Christmas tree and the lit garland above the fireplace”… That quickly turned into, “Well, we have to have the stockings … Oh, and it doesn’t look complete without a mini Christmas tree on the fireplace … And I do love that “Joy to the World” sign I picked up last year at Hobby Lobby…” HAHA! You get the point. Basically, Alex came downstairs and wondered what happened to my minimalism attitude with a baby arriving in a couple of weeks. šŸ˜‰ I guess there will be more to clean up while taking care of the newborn … or maybeeee I’ll just leave the twinkly lights up for the first couple of months. šŸ˜‰

It’s also funny to be here at the beach with Christmas just weeks away, but this chilly weather is making the scenery not so foreign anymore. šŸ™‚ But a little snowfall will be missed!!! Who knows… Maybe our next duty station next year will bring us a white Christmas!

TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

Well… Not exactly business, but I am checking off the baby to-dos!!! šŸ™‚ Now that we are 37-weeks, we are officially on baby watch in case he decides to come early. Which, hopefully not THIS early!!! And gosh… Looking at my friends who were due in December like me, are posting photos on FB that their babies arrived weeks early! So we won’t know when he will come, but I’m feeling much better now having some things checked off. šŸ™‚

Also, I’m learning how to take some of my landscape photos and convert them into digital watercolors!!! A fun little side project for the nursery!!! šŸ™‚

WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE…

2020 has been the year of water for the Schloe household! We have dealt with a leaking chimney for years, so it was no surprise when we had issues with Hurricane Sally … as well as water coming through the exterior doors. But when we had a busted hot water pipe earlier this year and had to repipe the entire house, we thought we were solid! Since then and $$$ later, we discovered our half bath toilet was leaking and now my dishwasher is leaking!!! AH! And I’m not talking about a little dip… I walked into the kitchen and it was running water from underneath. Ha… Ha… haaaaa… No joke. This year has been the year of water! Crazy. I’m praying Alex will be able to fix it so I don’t have to hand wash every dish to prepare our freezer meals. <3 Wish us luck!!! Haha!

Happy Monday, everyone!!
