Nick and Khea waited a very long time for this celebration – And not necessarily by choice! After many postponement announcements, I thought they were about to toss in the towel on their dream wedding day. But I’m glad they didn’t give up! 🙂 Back in March, they decided to gather with their immediate family and take on the official title of Mr. and Mrs.! Due to the pandemic, they had no choice but to postpone their big celebration to September. In fact, I had another postponed wedding scheduled for their new date… So I was bummed when they sent me the news because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to be their photographer for their wedding at 48 Fields. But we worked together to find another photographer to step in my place instead! Krysta Norman Photography did a great job working with them and documenting their special day. <3
After spending the evening with Nick and Khea TWO years ago during their fall engagement session, I knew these two were going to have a fun wedding. I loved experiencing Nick and Khea’s special day through Krysta’s lens! 🙂 Check it out below!!!
A RUSTIC PURPLE WEDDING AT 48 FIELDS IN VIRGINIA.
Prepping for the Ceremony.
I love that Khea had a relaxed time getting ready for the ceremony with only a few honorary people in the bridal suite. I know she could hardly wait to put on her dress again!! That should totally be a thing — You get to wear your dress as many times as you had to postpone. 😉 Haha! Hey, any excuse to feel like a princess again! She kept the entire look classic and simple with a POP of color on her heels. Aren’t they so fun?!!? Nick also made sure to add a little personality of color/fun into his look with his tie. After they were both dressed and ready, they were only minutes away from seeing each other and their families/friends!
The Ceremony.
The ceremony was all set on the patio, and it was a BEAUTIFUL September day! After all of the hot Virginia August days just before their wedding, this weather was so appreciated!!! Their friend played guitar as Khea walked down the aisle to Nick — And despite Nick seeing Khea back in March wearing the dress, there was something very different about seeing her again with the ambiance and loved ones. They were both smitten! And after a quick ceremony, they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. (again) and were sealed with a kiss! After hopping over the broomstick, they were off to start the celebration with family and friends!
Their Best Friends.
Khea and Nick’s color scheme is clearly purples, white, and greenery… but you gotta love it when the men add some personality into the mix. And this time, not through socks, but through their ties! Haha! Check it out below!!
Mr. & Mrs.!!!
Krysta rocked these photos around 48 Fields utilizing the barn and the property! But clearly, Nick and Khea stole the show — I love Khea’s smile shining through these photos, and Nick easily pulled off the model look! Absolutely beautiful, Khea and Nick!!!
The Details.
Khea and Nick kept decorating simple and easy!! After all, it was all about family and friends. Plus, the barn itself is beautiful with the twinkle lights strung all over the ceiling and the beautiful chandelier lights hanging from above. Kelly (the owner of 48 Fields) did a fabulous job renovating this barn!!!
One meaningful detail that Khea and Nick loved was their favors — They donated to support Breast Cancer awareness in honor of Nick’s mother and Khea’s grandmother. <3 They were definitely there in spirit on this extra special day!
The Reception.
This was the big event Khea and Nick had to postpone from March — The party! And after all of the wait, they finally got to have their family and friends all in one place. 🙂 After speeches and fun special dances with each other and their parents, everyone met Khea and Nick on the dance floor to kick off the celebration! Nick definitely busted some dance moves! HAHA! I loved looking through the photos and just imagining which song they were dancing to! They looked like they had the time of their lives dancing with family and friends!!! The evening quickly came to an end and they had their loved ones join them outside for a sparkler send off. A perfect ending to a perfect day!!
