Who else loves seasonal mini-sessions? I don’t offer them all year long, but I love the hype up before the event. 🙂 While I hosted mini-sessions in Virginia this year, I wanted to extend an invitation to locals in Colorado! I enjoy any chance to reunite with familiar faces and meet new families. 🙂 I had the joy of being the photographer to five families who came out to Ute Valley Park in Colorado Springs for my mini session event!

It was a fun and successful day playing around and dodging cacti! Haha! And the kids enjoyed themselves maybe a little too much… 😉 A lot of playing, chasing, hugging, and tickles! But some of my favorite memories involved one kid (Leo) who ran SO fast that his shoe flew off mid-air and I caught it on camera (see below)! HA!! Also, Annmarie’s two boys were big flirts. There was another nearby photo shoot with two little girls in tutus. Both families walked back to their cars, and the boys grabbed the girls’ hands to walk them back (see below). Melt my heart.

How a Mini Session Works

We met one evening at their contracted time to photograph their sweet moments together for 15 minutes. I scope out a location beforehand and tell each family where to meet and what to wear so they prepare before the event. Whether or not they choose to follow my style guide, I try to help as much as I can and check in before the contracted date. And while I typically deliver 20+ photos, I narrowed down this blog post to some of my favorites! And while the sun played peek-a-boo, we enjoyed a non-raining day here in Colorado! This season hasn’t been easy with the consistent thunderstorms/rain almost every evening since April, but we got lucky. 🙂 Check out some of my favorites below!!
