The last time I photographed Matt and Angela was pre-kids — They celebrated their anniversary by having photos at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens with their sweet Roxy pup (RIP). I was excited they asked me to be their photographer again, but this time, their family at Silver Lake Park. A lot changed in 6 years, but they now have two SWEET girls! Goodness, they are darling (especially in these dresses)! As I photographed (and melted behind the camera from their cuteness), I kept saying that I needed to update my client style guide with these photos. Haha! Can you see why? 🙂
We started the session at the Manassas Battlefield, and had lovely lighting for a 9 a.m. session. Before I had my own child, I prioritized lighting and preferred my clients to meet at sunrise if it was a morning session. But after having Jack, I realized that if a family needed a later start for happier children, I’m totally supportive of that decision! I will say that the lighting worked for us at that hour because of the smokey haze from the Canadian fires. It wasn’t super bright, so we worked in open light, which was refreshing!
About halfway through the session, we drove to Silver Lake Park. The girls were joyful, playful, and in good spirits. And in lemon dresses, how could you not be happy?! Haha! We played a lot and captured some cute, genuine smiles. 🙂 I loved every minute of this session!
