HAPPY FEBRUARY EVERYONE!!! Can you agree that you are relieved that January is done?! Haha! Maybe it’s just me, but it definitely didn’t seem to be my month with my car. Seems like once you have it paid off, there is always something that comes up. Can I get an Amen?! I have confidence that it’s only going to get better from here. 🙂 In fact, there are many countdowns going on and I can hardly contain my excitement!!
First countdown … OWNERSHIP OF MY HOUSE!!!! I cannot believe the months have come to this! My final walkthrough is February 12th with settlement on the 16th! SO soon!!! As you know, I love planning and keeping things organized. I have visited my house many times and visualized how I want to decorate the space. I have been on the search for certain furniture/lights over the months and I have found the jackpot! Shopping at antique and thrift shops have been my favorite pastime! Gorgeoussss chandeliers for less than $50 … Hard wood eight person dining room set with five chairs straight from a model home for less than $200 … A free TV stand from a yardsale … $200 HUGE area rugs that were originally priced over $1,200 … No joke! There ARE deals out there! I have never been so lucky with furniture shopping until now because I check back regularly. 🙂 I’ll be able to decorate my house within budget! Of course though with these finds means a little fixing up. It’s so much fun to visualize what you can do with the piece of furniture! I’ll be featuring DIY projects on my blog over the weeks once I have it in place to be photographed. As you know, Pinterest can be evil but SO good at the same time! I have learned so much about fixing up furniture thanks to the pinned handy articles! What’s my next project? Fixing up the dining room set! Planning to install a different table top, paint the legs and reupholster the chairs. I even have one of my past groom’s handcrafting a bench for my table!! It’s going to be so awesome having that personal touch! All of this hard work is going to be worth it and I seriously cannot wait to see it all put together!!!
Second countdown … I’m going to Hawaii the end of this month!!! I want to hear from YOU! What fun activities are there to do while visiting Waikiki and Kona?! Honestly, I haven’t spent any time researching activities to do since I have been consumed in home paperwork, etc. Haha! I know there are many of you out there who have visited so I thought I would ask for your input! After all, word of mouth from personal experience is the best reference!
