Weekend Recap

Well, it’s hard to believe this is one of the last Weekend Recaps of 2016! I’m sitting by the Christmas tree typing today’s blog post with Christmas music playing in the background and I wish this magical cheer lasted more than a month. 🙂 Last week was spent packaging 2016 client gifts, finalizing edits, dressing up/shipping out portrait packages, chatting with my financial advisor about my retirement, planning/purchasing 2016 packaging supplies, selling unused camera equipment and purchasing a new camera body (!!!! Announcement coming soon about that last one !!!). As I prepare to stamp this year another year completed, I cannot help but be thankful for you! But that is for another blog post. 🙂

This past weekend was my first weekend off in a while and I made sure to enjoy the Holiday festivities! First of all, JMU won the semifinals and are advancing to the Championship!! This means my family and I are traveling to Texas next month and we are so pumped!!! I’m currently brainstorming fun t-shirt design ideas. 🙂 I’ve never been to Texas before so the road trip will be fun. Yesterday was spent in DC which was significant because I feel like every time I venture to DC, it’s for business and not personal time. One of my favorite Christmas activities is watching the Nutcracker ballet! The Warner Theater in downtown DC played the Nutcracker this year and it was beautiful! Although, I think I enjoyed the ballet performance played at the Kennedy Center a couple of years ago better because of the live orchestra. I’ll be listening to Tchaikovsky’s music all day while finishing some last bits of work! There are still some things on my to-do list before I can officially say I’m done for the year, but I’m excited to brainstorm ideas for the 2017 year while reflecting 2016’s moments!

This week on the blog is going to be a short and sweet week since I’m planning to take off Thursday and Friday to spend it with family and friends. I’m planning to share some Christmas decor tomorrow on the blog, and you won’t want to miss it! For now, happy Monday!
