I cannot believe it’s the end of March! Where did the last three months go? I started planning the Second Annual Runaway Brides 5k Fun Run back in November, and the planning hasn’t stopped since then. There’s SO much that goes into planning a big event like this. From locating volunteers and coordinating them to figuring out decoration details and crafting them to strategizing marketing posts on multiple social media platforms and blogging content to organizing a vendor show and all of the little details … It’s a LOT of hard work! Definitely worth it once everything comes together, though. 🙂 Cannot wait to share a recap on the blog from Saturday morning!!!
I’ll be honest, though, it’s going to be a LONG day! I’ll be up well before sunrise to head up to Marriott Ranch to set up. No doubt, the event will be a great time! However, I’ll be taking off to Pat’s funeral directly after the 5k, which is a weird combination of highs and lows, just within hours. I’m praying to stay strong for Kyle, as I know it’s going to be another hard weekend of reality. It’s hard to grasp the truth of it all.
I’ll be taking next week off as a little “staycation” to work on personal projects and random adventures before the wedding season picks up! Blogging will pick back up the week of April 10th with so much to share! I hope you all enjoy your weekend!!!
RIP, Pat. You were always my favorite out of Kyle’s group of friends, and you knew that!
This photo was from an extended trip in Chincoteague last year with Kyle and some of his buddies, including our dear Pat! My favorite memory was when Pat graciously brought over a bushel of crabs to our tent site one night, and we laughed at the thought of seagulls attacking our campsite the next morning … Well, it actually happened! LOL! Countless seagulls surrounded our tent in the early morning hours, and it was so loud and obnoxious! Lol! So many great memories together over the short 4.5 years of knowing him! This photo from the beach looks like we were ready for a safari! Lol!
I recently found this photo of Pat and his sweet step-sister, Maddy, from a New Years Eve party Kyle and I threw back in 2015! I remember shoving Pat and Maddy in front of the camera, and I’m so glad they did this! Although, Pat was so tall for the tripod and we had to raise it up as high as possible for him, and it still wasn’t tall enough. Lol!
I love seeing all of the photos/videos pop up of Kyle and Pat’s adventures together. Through those memories, Pat’s spirit will continue to live. <3
