What a season!! As a photographer with businesses in Colorado Springs and Virginia, there can be challenges. With Jack being so out of routine, I saw how much it affected him as well as myself. But it’s also very rewarding!! I’m grateful for the time with family and friends in Virginia while also being in town to photograph dreamy sessions/weddings. 🙂

I underestimated how busy this spring season was going to be until I was in the middle of it all. Over the weekend, I realized it was my family’s first weekend home since EASTER. Needless to say, we enjoyed the homebody life over the weekend. Haha!

I enjoy quick turnarounds, but I had to give myself grace while I finalized galleries and dealt with a flooding basement in our Colorado home. Yikes! Colorado had a crazy season with severe storms almost daily. Hail storms ripped through the areas damaging cars (we got lucky, though) and even tornado threats. I didn’t expect the tornado action since we are so close to the mountains, but anything is possible! I’m glad we aren’t in Destin, FL, as they had a pretty big tornado there recently… Can you tell that I’m not a fan? Ha!

After photographing two weddings, one elopement, 12 sessions, and 19 mini sessions in 4.5 weeks, it was understandable why I was a little over my head. While it was an exhausting season being a photographer flying back and forth between Colorado Springs and Virginia, it was also gratifying. I’ve photographed and delivered some of my best work in eleven years, and I’m so excited to share everything over the weeks ahead!

Highlights from the Spring Season

1. I turned 35 years old! Not sure if that is a highlight, but I’m mentally staying in my late 20s to keep me young. 😉
2. My business turned 11 years old!!! What an accomplishment! When I built this business, I never imagined it to be the business it is today.
3. My husband, Alex, and I celebrated 4 years of marriage. He is my rock and best friend!!!
4. Alex started a new venture — Go support him and learn how to invest in real estate!! Physicians and Properties
5. We bought a camper and renovated it! You can check out the venture HERE (with more to come!!)!

I realized I fell off the blogging train in April when things got busy, but I’m looking forward to getting back into a groove and sharing my recent work! 🙂 Stay tuned!!!
