About a year ago, Dave, Hanaa, Isaiah and I met in Chincoteague, VA for their sunrise beach engagement session. It was definitely one to remember!! We had the most incredible golden light, not to mention, we had the best time running around getting to know each other. 🙂 Since then, we have been anticipating their special day in Hawaii!!! When Dave and Hanaa asked me to travel with them to Hawaii to document their wedding day, I was so excited and honored! This destination wedding turned into an experience I will never forget. <3 They have become friends of mine over the past year and I am so fortunate to have gotten to know them over this exciting journey! Looking forward to keeping our connection over the years to come. 🙂
Back in February when my family and I traveled to Hawaii, we passed by a gorgeous location along the east coast. My jaw dropped over the scenery from the mountain, “lizard’s back” as they call it, to the gorgeous shore. I remember asking if we could pull over to take photos but the sun was setting and we needed to “chase the light” around the island. Haha! I was just in awe over how gorgeous the scenery was! For some reason, I had thought Dave and Hanaa’s wedding was taking place further down south but turned out that Kualoa Ranch was indeed their wedding venue my family and I admired!! I was ecstatic when I arrived last Wednesday and felt “familiar” with the space. Kualoa Ranch is so unique from anything I have ever photographed. It really was picture perfect between the mountains in one direction to the blue water in the ceremony backdrop. In fact, Jurassic Park among many other films were actually filmed here!!! SO COOL. It’s absolutely breathtaking and could not have been a better destination location for these two. They make me want to do a destination wedding in the future!!! Hahah! When you think about a destination wedding, you think relaxation. Dave and Hanaa’s wedding was a perfect balance of relaxation and party!!! You’ll see how much fun this group was to photograph Wednesday evening!!! 😉 This will be a wedding I will NEVER forget!!!
