We are MOVING to Colorado Springs this July! π As much as we love the beaches here in Florida, we are soooo excited to head back to the mountains. Although, Colorado is just a little different from the Virginia mountains we are used to. Especially when it comes to the ski slopes… π The views are so majestic and remind us of our travels to the Grand Tetons last year! I know we won’t take that view for granted and will live up every adventure out west. Not only will we enjoy the mountain view every day, but I’m looking forward to documenting couples and families with the beautiful CO backdrops!! If you know a couple who is looking for a Colorado wedding photographer, I’ll be in the area. π
I’m SO grateful for our time in Destin, Florida. Believe me… As excited as we are about Colorado, I’m also sad that this chapter of our story is wrapping up. We met so many incredible friends and fell in LOVE with the Emerald Coast beaches … Actually, I take that back… It was love at first sight. π I never knew of this little piece of paradise until Alex moved here, but we are excited to come back to visit friends and vacation!! Until our big move this summer, I’ll be spending as much possible time enjoying the friendships and the beach!
From the patient care that Alex will provide to the couples/families I’ll be photographing, we have a lot to look forward to in our line of work! π I’m grateful to have the ability to pick up my business and go really anywhere! When it comes to my business, I want to paint a picture of what the coming years look like for you all…
Virginia & Colorado Wedding + Portrait Photographer
Because I have family and friends in Warrenton, Virginia, it will forever be my “home base!” Although, we will be in Colorado Springs for at least four years. π I love traveling back to Virginia and seeing family/friends. And now that Jack is in our lives, family is even more excited for us to come and stay! π It’s nice to have lodging and transportation provided of so that’s one thing that helps my couples when it comes to their budget!
When it comes to booking Virginia weddings, I’ll only book 1 weekend per month during the peak seasons. Although, there might be exceptions to this “rule” depending on the situation. π I want to leave the other weekends open to booking weddings closer to home in CO. I know Alex will appreciate that too! HA! So this is our plan for now and we will test drive it to see what is sustainable. π Either way, I want to keep my connections with my Virginia network because I owe so much to everyone there for giving me this thriving business!!!
Regarding portrait sessions βΒ I will plan portrait sessions around the weekends I’ll be visiting. It will be very limited, so I’ll have to prioritize my engagement sessions. But Ill have a few openings for family portraits while I’m in town. π I also plan to host mini sessions once per year in Virginia so I can photograph families I wasn’t able to during my quick visits. π I’ll be sure to make announcements or feel free to email me at (info@stephaniemessick.com) to get one my list and be the first to know!
That’s it for now!!! We are excited for this big adventure and look forward to sharing our journey with you over the years to come. <3 I cannot wait to continue growing my business from Virginia to Colorado … and an occasional Florida visit. π
